No box stores near me carry hardened chain. I confirmed the integrity of the chain with 24 inch bolt cutters (the largest I have). As a control, I tried and succeeded at cutting the chain I was previously using which was roughly equivalent in size --normal galvanized variety.

We have two of these chains at our off grid lake house. We use them on the two farm gates that are along the lane way to the house. They've been through a winter and have held up fine. Nice and strong feeling, adds a level of deterrence since our house is in a pretty secluded wooded area.

De acuerdo a la publicidad es de dureza 65, más que las cizallas comunes asà que debe resistir ese tipo de ataques. Muy bonita y larga. No me gustó mucho que es de 8mm pero es barata comparada con otras publicadas con las mismas caracterÃsticas. Me imagino que la marca de las otras las hacen más caras. Se ve muy sólida y resistente. Espero no estar equivocado. Sà la recomiendo. Actualizo mi opinión 4 meses después de la compra. Por el grosor de 8 mm aún tenÃa mis dudas sobre su dureza pero la curiosidad pudo más. Intenté cortarla con cizallas de 24 pulgadas que es lo más probable que usen los chicos malos pero me la pellizqué como decimos en México coloquialmente. Por más que hice no pude más que hacerle unas marcas casi imperceptibles. Ahora sà creo y con confianza dejo mi bici por mucho tiempo obviamente en público no en zonas solitarias pero me siento muy tranquilo. Contribuye también que uso un candado Abus 20/80 con sistema de discos. Lo super recomiendo. Por cierto, el candado siento que fue un poco exagerado, el 20/70 hubiera sido suficiente. El 20/80 es grande y pesado. También recomiendo muchÃsimo ese candado cuando lo encuentren en oferta. Vale cada peso.

I had to return the item because:1. it was about 8" too short to use on my building's bike wall hooks.2. The chain's links are too small to be used with the Amazer Heavy Duty Combination Bike U Lock, 12mm Bike Lock that I ordered the same day.The item looked very solid.
