I took at least 1 month looking for the perfecf lunch box, and I was a little bit hesitant at the beginning because of the price, but after I evaluate another products, I conclude this is the best option for my daughter and the price is more than fair for a high quality ptoduct.I really like it, because I have the option to pack hot food, keeping it warm for her lunch time at school, I can pack cold and warm food in the other compartiments to complement her meal; everything is one place: cuttlery, hot and cold food and beverage, my daughter doesn't need to carry many containers to lunch, all in one is perfect for a little kid. Also, the design is functional, the size is perfect, the colors are vibrant and beautiful, and the last but not less...the plastic is very resistant, not cheap plastic, fall proof, looks that is made with high quality. My daughter loved it!!

I purchased this lunchbox for my toddler over a year ago now and it’s still going strong. It’s been dropped, kicked and everything in between and still looks close to brand new. My kid uses it every day. It’s easy for them to open and carry it, because it has an handle and latch that’s easy to use. The latch, as well as the internal seal, also prevents leaking. I’ve never had it open accidentally or leak any food. The included thermos inside keeps the food warm until lunch time. I’ve used it for pasta, chicken nuggets and soup.I also love that they sell accessories that make the lunchbox customizable based on what lunch I pack that day.I highly recommend if you want a lunchbox that will last and will accommodate any kind of food.

My daughter has started preschool this year and I wanted an actual lunchbox for her to take. I love the bento concept because I'm used to that (having grown up in Korea) and I thought it would be a great way to keep foods separated but all together in one box. In any case, after doing a lot of looking reading, I chose the OmieBox precisely because of the thermos container inside. I used to send her a separate thermos container when she went to a Mother's Day Out program, but that was a small group and there were more teachers to help kids out one on one so it wasn't much of an issue. Her preschool class is larger and there are only two adults (teacher and aid), so I figured the less separate parts to deal with, the better. I also liked that it keeps cold foods cold without having to pack an ice pack with it. It had a little handle, so I just pack everything and she takes it like it's her lunch bag. The plastic is sturdy, it's easy to clean, and there's a nice little divider that works in both of the longer side sections, which is nice. I did have one issue where after I closed the box, it seemed like there was a gap on one side and I wasn't sure if that would affect the seal and the insulation of the box, but after sending an email, they assured me that the gap was part of the design so that the thermos could fit in and it should not leak or lose insulation. I have yet to have issues with leakage (although I don't generally send anything that has extra liquid) and my daughter hasn't complained, so I think that's a win. The price may stop you at first, but if you use it every school day, I think it's worth it. It's large enough that I can see my daughter taking it with her into even middle school if it holds up (and I think it will unless she throws it really hard against a wall or drops it from somewhere high because the plastic isn't some cheap, flimsy material). I think it would be really cool if the insides could be lined with stainless steel - it's possible, because I bought a stackable bento from Korea this summer that is plastic on the outside and stainless steel on the inside and super light. And it cost me $5, but I digress... ;-)

Durable, doesn’t leak, great size compartments. Keeps food warm in thermos for hours.

I just got this lunch box and already I have my thoughts on this. I like the idea of a bento style lunch box with the capability to hold and keep foods cold or hot. There's only so many sandwiches I can make for my kids with other bento lunch boxes, sometimes they ask for a hot lunch and I have to pack a thermos along with the other containers making for a bulky and messy lunch bag. This right here solves all that. One container for hot/cold items plus compartments for sides and or a drink. This lunch box is innovative and great but it does have some things that need to be looked at and hopefully fixed in a future redesign. Here are some cons: First of all, when I got this I struggled to open it. I mean really struggle! To the point where I almost stuck a butter knife to pry this thing open. Maybe it was because it was stored but I would hate for that to happen in school and my kids not asking for help and going without lunch. :( After a few times opening and closing it got a little loose enough to make it easier to open. The silicone lining does come off to clean daily (as recommended) but it can come off too easily that with time it might fly out every time we open the lunch box. Another thing I don't really like is that you need to apply force to shut the lunch box tight. There will be a slight gap on the side where the thermos is located, so if you were to pack a sandwich in there, you would need to wrap it in plastic wrap to avoid getting dust or dirt in there contaminating the food (if you use this as intended without a separate insulated lunch bag, I personally would use a separate bag to pack this). Another thing to think about is that when putting a hot meal in the thermos it will slightly warm up the items in the other compartments. Not a problem if you pack crackers or other dry foods but definitely something to keep in mind when packing fruits and vegetables. Finally a couple other things to consider is that only the thermos is leak proof, the other compartments are spill proof from each other (except when dividing it with the removable divider included) but they are not leak proof so forget about packing yogurt or applesauce as a side item directly into the compartment. Like I said the thermos is leakproof, just becareful when twisting it shut as the silicone ring is a little flimsy and if it bends or wrinkles it will cause liquids to spill out. I know it seems like a lot of cons but I tried it at home before thinking about sending it to school and these are things that could be corrected in a future updated design. Now for the pros, there are many, besides the ones I already mentioned, the thermos does keep food warm for atleast 4 hours, enough to last until lunch time. It is leak proof when used correctly and it is compact and sleek and it fits in a standard size lunch bag. The plastic is BPA and phthalate free and it is high quality, you can feel how great it is. The handle is great for little ones hands. It is up there in price but I think it is a fair price considering that it is an all in one lunch box, a thermos, bento style lunch box with a handle that does not require a separate bag to carry. Yumboxes cost around $30 or more but don't keep food warm or cold, and still need a bag. Planetboxes start at over $50 and still need a bag (your total will be almost $70 with all the extras) and also doesn't keep foods cold/hot. I do love Yumbox and Planetbox don't get me wrong, I'm just trying to say that the price is just right.I would recommend this for little kids, up to maybe age 6 or 7 depending on their appetites. This is perfect for my 3 yr old but my 8 yr old said it looks like a baby lunch box and also that it won't fit much food.Hope this review helped someone!

La boîte est jolie, pratique et bien étanche grâce à son joint. Quand on n'a pas la possibilité de réchauffer, le récipient isotherme est top pour les soupes ou plats en sauce qui restent bien chauds pour les enfants.

The omie lunch box is good quality and we are so happy with it. Was struggling with my 3 year old returning from nursery with her food for over 6 months (tried all sort of lunch boxes and stainless steel bowls before with no luck) and since i got this lunch box, now i dont want to jinx it, she is returning with nearly empty lunch box every nursery day!! So it seems the food temperature is just perfect for her when she has her lunch .. size is just right for younger child, easy to use for them and fits well in lunch bag. No leaks so far. I got it when it was on promotion but if I knew what effect it will have on my daughter's eating habits in nursery, I would grab it even full price over 6 months ago! So for me it is fantastic value for money.
