As others have stated, the white looks like it was applied by a pre K student. But it fits and works so that is the important part. Make sure you remove the metal ring that is probably left over from the broken one you are replacing.

Broke your old knob and Amazon says this fits your vehicle? Look in the hole where the old one was. See a metal sleeve on the control post? That comes out, and you’ll have to remove it to replace the knob.This replacement is a perfect fit (jeep LJ for me) and the white line looks like it was painted on by blind children like everyone says. If you landed on this product you probably aren’t shopping for your show car so who cares.

I just need replacement climate control knobs. These appear to be correct dimensionally, but there's a metal insert in the interface that provides the structure for rotating the shaft. Given that the 16 year old knobs these are replacing used only plastic, I thought this was a nice upgrade - but the metal sleeves are too tight and will not allow installation onto the post. I considered removing the inserts, but the plastic they are embedded into is not keyed in such a way that it would manipulate the control shaft. No amount of pushing I'm comfortable with will get them to fully engage, and one of the 3 I purchased will not even install enough to stay put. Hypothetically, if the knobs were pressed onto the shaft, the plastic around the insert would need to give way ... i.e., break.Then there's the awful white paint the manufacturer outsourced application of to the local preschool. It's too thick in some areas, letting no light through, and thin in others. It's so roughly applied, it looks like it must have been applied while riding on a moving train.So not only will I need to enlarge the aforementioned metal collars, I will need to strip the ugly white paint and replace with something - anything - else. Or, I can return them and pay a little more for something that actually went through quality control. Absolutely NOT worth even 25% of what I paid for them ... but it's definitely enough to make returning them worthwhile.

It's a knob and does knob things.... perfect fit for my 99 jeep TJ Wrangler. When another one breaks or falls off i will come right back here and buy another one
