Relay switches (also called an electrical relay or an electrical relay switch) use a small amount of power to control a larger source of power connected to electrical devices such as car motors, computers, and lighting installations. A basic relay switch has a control circuit with an electromagnetic coil and a load circuit with contacts and a lever. When current flows into the relay switch, it moves through the coil and a magnetic field is created, which causes the lever in the load circuit to move between contacts, either turning the device on or off. In a normally open (NO) relay switch, when power is supplied to the relay, the load circuit is closed and the power source connected to the relay is turned on. In a normally closed (NC) relay switch, when power is supplied to the relay, the load circuit is open and the power source connected to the relay is turned off. In other types of relay switches, non-moving parts such as transistors or semiconductors can be used as the control circuit to operate the switching mechanism. Relay switches can be controlled with an external switch, such as a light switch, or they can be connected to an automatically switched power source, such as a car ignition. One relay can operate multiple switches, and multiple relays can be operated with a single switch, with each relay operating independently from the other relays in the system.

Omron manufactures and distributes electronic components, equipment, and systems for industrial automation. The company, founded in 1933, is headquartered in Kyoto, Japan.

Relay was exactly the brand and quality I was hoping for. Quick service and I didn't end up with an inferior copy of the original brand. Very pleased with the service. I would be happy to deal with this company in the future.

What can I say it works in my Arco zone controller for my heating. My old relay was not activating all the time and now with this replacement it does. For $12 my hydronic system is running right again. Quality looks pretty good, we will see about longevity but I suspect it will last as long as the original, 12 years.

These are direct pin replacements for the heating controller at my brother's home and they work as expected. We bought extras just to have on hand.

This was an exact part match for the existing relay that was clicking on and off like crazy. The failing relay was causing a unpleasant leak from sudden overpressure that had me baffled.Once I investigated the clicking noise I could see the arcing inside the original relay. To repair, I just disconnected the power using the circuit breaker, then pulled out the old relay with my hand, and slid the new relay into place. It really was a trivial repair with dramatic results! No more over pressure leaking, and the heating to that room is now more reliable.

Perfect fit and function. Two relays for heat and A/C. Much as the original relays, they do not like electrical surges.

Works great. replaced the furnace relay that furnace co wanted $50 for. It is merely a standard LY2 footprint DPDT relay. I got this model with a 24v coil to switch the 110V furnace circuits. FYI although I bought this Omron product I could have bought ANY LY2 footprint relay with a 24V coil.

I did not buy these for a heating system.I made a custom irrigation system master valve relay switching system to operate one master valve from three different irrigation controllers. Worked wonderfully teamed up with Amazon item # B005T67OFE. I posted a picture. Take note that there is no pin schematic included with the relay other than the hard to read rela. Granted that can be figured out with an ohm meter or download the pin schematic. (datasheet(dot)octopart.com/LY2-AC24-Omron-datasheet-10910099(dot)pdf) I have 24VAC on the coil and switching 24VAC at .3 amps. Quite low because the switch is rated at 10 amps for 120 volts.
