Ooly Travel Art Kit with 9 Jumbo Crayons & 48 Themed Coloring Pages & Case for Easy Traveling (Safari, Brand: the Ooly Store)- First impression was wow this is a neat idea. It's a small child sized coloring book with simple illustrations on good card stock. The coloring box has a unique cardboard flap to tuck the back of the book into; making it travel friendly. Provided you travel with the unit as a whole. And that's where the 'this is excellent' stopped for me. And here's why. The crayons were not easily accessible for anyone with fine motor skills to access. There's a flap folding mechanism to get past and then the crayons themselves are wedged in there snug as a bug stuck on a rug. It's not uncommon for young children to have fine motor skill issues as they are still learning. So, the independence is lost here in getting out the color they want unassisted. And then I had a headache trying to get them back in because of there being a large cut out on the back of the box. The crayons kept slipping through. Lastly the pages do not have perforation lines for easy page removal. What should be geared up as a small independent moment for a young child, ends up in frustration for both child and caregiver. Because that's what I thought I saw when I first held this Ooly experience in my hands. I thought it was supposed to be an independent busy activity to keep them momentarily entertained allowing you to catch a small break. The concept is there, and this is still highly useable. I'm lightly scoring the sheets and replacing the frustrating crayon box with any easy poly zip bag that should fit both the coloring book and crayons. However, you can keep the unit as is and slip it easily into a bag. But keep in mind, not all children will have the skills to independently navigate this activity as presented. And for what it costs, I'd really like to see Ooly improve upon their product.

Ooly always has the cutest artsy products for kids. This set was perfect for my youngest nephew! He tends to death-grip his crayons so the thick design of these is very toddler friendly! Great for on-the-go fun, whether in a car ride, waiting for food at a restaurant, or traveling. Space efficient with an adorable design. He loves having his own set of crayons and this was the perfect little solution. Great gift idea too!

I like the portability of this Travel Art Kit. It travels well to restaurants and in the car, keeping kids busy for a period of time. The jumbo crayons are easy for our 2.5 year old grandson to grasp and scribble on the pages. The case provides a place to store everything, reducing the chances of losing pieces and keeping things tidy. Would recommend.

This kit served us very well during a recent trip with my 4 year old grand daughter. She loves to color and she liked the small cardboard carrying case with the handle on the top - perfect for little hands. The only thing keeping me from a five star review is that the crayons have somewhat muted colors. She is used to the "name brand" crayons that have more distinct, brilliant colors and felt like she had to press a bit harder and color over the same spot multiple times. The included coloring pages are nice - a break from the usual princess-themed pictures she usually selects. Overall a good choice for travel.
