Update: This peel still going strong! I prep my pizza on it before sliding it into the oven and have had no issues with cracking/fraying/splintering. I would/do highly recommend this peel.————-———————————————————Not one to write reviews, but seeing how this had so few ratings, I didn’t feel the current rating is reflective of this Ooni Pizza Peel.With that said, I can say out of the box this peel is definitely quality. I haven’t used it yet, and if I run into any unforeseen issues, you can bet I will post an update to this post/rating.The packaging is very good. I love the design of the edge. Can’t foresee sliding any pizzas off this to be an issue. Seems very strong and well-built. Did a bunch of research into pizza peels, as I’ve seen them breaking after minimal use. Sure am glad I spend a couple extra bucks on this. Well worth in my opinion.

New to the pizza oven game, but this is working better for is than a metal peel for launching pizzas into oven. Key is to not overload your pizza and not build your pizza on the peel. We only use it for launching. I wouldn't want to use it to try and get the pizza out of the oven. A thinner metal peel works for that.

Love this ooni peel. I ordered two different peels. One was this wooden ooni and another random brand. This one is so smooth! The other brand i ordered was rough and you could probably get slivers from it. This one is great! Used it to get my pizza out and to serve on. Everyone thought it was so cool! Wish it was a little cheaper because I'd buy more. You get what you pay for!

Overall nice design and quality. I like the way it is beveled on the front compared to my other wooden peels, and that it is bamboo instead of some unknown soft wood. I am deducting one star, due to the inexplicable packaging. I am having a big problem with the fact they used some sort of very sticky tape to needlessly attach the cardboard exterior package to the middle of the wooden peel. It left a large sticky spot on the wood, which I still have not been able to remove, after washing, using alcohol, etc. Kind of defeats the purpose of creating a nice surface to have the dough slide off!Ooni- PLEASE stop doing this!Any hints as to a safe way to clean this off of the otherwise nice peel?

I learned how to make a great pizza dough (thanks to Alton Brown) and we bought an Ooni pizza oven. Our old peel was too small for a 12" pizza. There were other options on Amazon, but the Ooni price was within an acceptable range. It has a smoother surface than other peels, making it easier to slide the pizza off the peel and into the oven. Once the pizza is in the oven, I suggest using a metal peel to turn the pizza, or you can get a long-handled small metal turning peel. Once you get the hang of it, you'll never call for pizza delivery again.

Seems to be exceptionally well made. No gaps in the lamination process. Sanded smooth. We hope the glue is food grade. Never know what some of those folks will do in that country that wants to have their currency replace the US Dollar for ALL International Trades. Guess I am willing to take the chance and trust that Ooni did its job of vetting its venders. Have not used it yet. Unaware of how easily it will be maintained/cleaned. It is my first Pizza Peel.

Very nice, and perfect size, BUT has a long crack where the wood has split. Still works, but should NOT have been cracked. If no crack I would have given it a 5.
