snapped in easily but there should of been more springs to capture the chain in more places. I purchased 4 more springs to put in between the 4 on each tighter and it brought up the garden tractor chains nice and evenly (total of 8 springs on each side.. 6 probably would of been enough.. meaning adding two springs to each tightner).The tighteners were first class and well constructed just not enough springs in my opinion or I would of given them 5 stars. at the hardware stores i went to the #175 spring in their assortment was perfect for this once the tips were modified slightly so they could snap on to the central ring.

We had purchased these last year with the intention to use them on our small tractor. We needed to install tire chains on our ATV for snow plowing. We decided to use these tighteners instead of rubber bungee cords.These tighteners made the chain installation so easy that we bought another set. They are holding up well.
