The lens caps were separate. I don't know if they were supposed to be. I couldn't figure out how to attach them so I returned this item.

We live in NYC and I wanted to get a pair of these glasses for the Metroplitan Opera. They are so stylish and did a wonderful job magnifying the stage. I love all things vintage and love the design and gold color of these. Very sturdy and well made, yet light to transport. Would work great for the rear seats at a Broadway show as well.

I kind a got this on a whim. I wish it wasn't gold. It might bruise my masculine ego at the theater . it is solid and works well. However, I am pretty sure that its magnification is not what they say it is. I haven't scientifically measured it, but comparing it to some of the binoculars that I have, their 'scale' for magnification doesn't seem to be the same. I honestly think that this is more like a 2.2x10 or 2.5x10 instead of the advertised 3x10. But again, that is my impression I didn't dig out any scientific tools to measure it. It works, but I might sneak my 10x80 binoculars into the next theater performance. I'll wear my camo too. [I'm just kidding .... I think.]

A refined, classy, sophisticated, way of viewing a target performance or what have you. It is a very good looking, stylish, high quality look, that these have going for them, and I appreciate the honesty of the description when they say these are not "optical quality lenses", and basically, they're more about fashion, in effect, than anything else... which is going to be the case with all of these type "3X" type opera binoculars.... they just aren't going to stand up to what you'd see with a pair of 8 x 35 or 10 x 35, regular field binoculars.... which means 8x and 10x magnification, instead of just 3x....but 3x is perfect for many situations, and besides that, you'll look good using them, they are high end looking for sure. Great product.

These are classy and vintage looking. Honestly, I got these to place on my bookshelf for the anesthetic but I think I might actually take these to the shows/plays I plan to attend this summer. They're not super powerful but they do the job by doubling the image. They are a little heavy for my liking but that just means the quality is good. I had hoped that they would have came with a hard shell case for better protection but unfortunately they came in a pleather drawstring bag.
