This is a review of the binoculars (not the monocular with the same model number). I bought the binocs to replace an old pair of Pentax 8x24 reverse-porros. Since I wear glasses, I was very concerned with the eye-relief of any potential replacement. These Opticron binocs have an eye-relief of 17mm, which is pretty good (even 1mm makes a difference; 16 is what I consider bare-minimum, with 18-19 being perfect for me). It is hard to find very small binocs with a good eye-relief, so this was a big incentive to buy these. Plus, the close focus of 5 feet is excellent for this price-point.Like another reviewer, I had previously bought a much more expensive pair of Opticron Explorer WA ED-R 8x32 binocs and really like them, so that influenced me to buy this even smaller T4-Trailfinder model. I am pleasantly surprised that this cheaper model can come so close in performance to the larger, more deluxe model - bright (for 25mm) and sharp, with smooth and reliable focusing. There is essentially nothing I can fault them on. Opticron equipment is proving to be excellent and I am liking both models very much.Plus, I can report that Opticron support is excellent too. When I received my T4-Trailfinders, they did not come with the strap that they should have. I reported this on the Opticron website's contact form and received a nice strap about a week later.

Sturdy, precise focus, bright, relatively large field of view (6.8 degrees) for long eye relief (17mm). It's probably the only 8x25 monocular with a long eye relief with decent quality/price in the current market !There is a trick for adjusting its focusing distance (which I just figured out and assumed to be the method by design): If you look through it with your right eye, use your left fingers to hold the focus level steady. Don't try to shift the level, it's too sensitive ! Instead, use your right fingers to rotate the coarse focus ring near the eyepiece, which is fixed with the body and causes the body to rotate relative to the level.

I read a lot of reviews before buying this as a gift for my husband. I wanted something lightweight and compact for looking at ceilings of churches, checking out something a little distance away, etc while traveling. I also didn't want to spend a bunch of money in case it's lost or stolen on vacation. The monocle is easy to pack and has good optics for the price. It stashes in luggage/a bag very easily and is easy to carry. The only minus is the lens cap, which is pretty loose and flops off sometimes.overall very happy with this item.

Reasonably sharp and corrected wee optic, ideal for daylight viewing while hiking or watching outdoor sports. Of course, not as nice as a good pair of real binoculars but great for a quick check of small details. Sharpness is excellent in the center with slight softness and purple fringing along the periphery. Yes, the focus level needs micro tiny movements but once dialed in, I rarely need to adjust it unless bumped. I immediately lost the eyecup cover—loose as a goose—but no biggy.

Both types (10x25 and 8x25) are good but I liked the 10x25 better:)

As you can see from the photo, the focus mechanism is a lever that is moved to focus. When I first saw it, I thought this will be great. Not so. The problem is that a very very small amount of movement of the lever dramatically changes the focus. It was very difficult to focus on a stationary parked car license plate a few hundred yards distance. Focusing on a moving object.......impossible. Also the focusing lever is a bit stiff and the depth of field is shallow which further compounds the problem. I am returning this. Do Not Buy.

Iv had this monocular out for a few hikes and feel iv experienced it enough to form a worthwhile opinion. In short, its excellent and if you are on the fence about getting the 10x or the 8x I'd say go for the 10x it feels great in the hand and its easy to hold it steady ... the rubberized material is perfect for this design and I also really like the focus slider. You will not lose focus accidentally and its very easy to operate this with one hand and maintain clear views. Optics look very nice and Iv heard a few even say they prefer this to a much more expensive Leica Monovid 8x20.Not sure what else to say except I use a broccoli elastic to hold the lens caps on secure when its in my pack. Comparing the price / value / design / lightweight / optics quality it's fantastic. get one.

Messo immediatamente in restituzione.
