I’ve been using this with my plants lately to keep them watered and it works incredibly well. I’ve had no issues with either lack of water or overwatering, it’s been wicking up the perfect amount being paired with a fabric grow bag. I highly recommended using this wick for your plants, it makes life much easier. It’s strong and long lasting, and this particular listing is an excellent value for what you get. Thanks!

I’m sad that this did not work out. I tried several methods, and none of them work for me. I’m giving it four stars because I think the product itself is a good quality. I can see it working well for indoor use, or maybe outdoors or in a climate that is not so dry.

I recently purchased the self-watering wicking cord for my plants as we were going out of town for almost a month, and I didn't have anyone to water them. I was pretty skeptical about how well it would work, especially since I didn't have time to do a trial run and had to set it up the day we were leaving. I left hoping for the best.Fast forward to yesterday, we got home, and my plants were alive! The water was pretty much gone, so I think it may have run out in the last couple of days, but the plants were still alive, though a bit dry. Given my initial lack of confidence, I was pleasantly surprised. Here are a couple of tips based on my experience:1. Follow the Instructions: The instructions are very helpful in figuring out the water flow.2. Do a Trial Run: If you have time, do a trial run so you can adjust as needed.3. Adjust the Setup: If I need to use it again, I would tweak the setup to avoid running out of water and possibly send a slower flow to the smaller plants.4. Ensure Plenty of Water: Make sure you have plenty of water available. I didn't have time to get a 5-gallon bucket, but I'll make sure to grab one next time.5. Prevent Messes: Put something under your plants and water source to catch any drainage. I had something under my big plants, but not under the smaller ones, and water leaked out. It wasn't too bad, but it's something I'll adjust next time.Overall, I was very happy with the self-watering wicking cord. It exceeded my expectations and kept my plants alive during our time away.

Exactly what I wanted. This fabric is so flexible, I can braid it if I need to. I'm going to make so deodorizer jars for the basement window sill because my cat(s) station is down there. That's a great idea for the flower pot also

Let’s be real—I’m the kind of plant parent who’s just hoping I make it through the day, let alone my greenery. Succulents and cacti are usually my jam because they’re basically the camels of the plant world: they don’t need me much, and that’s perfect. But then I decided to leave my plants home alone for three weeks (cue dramatic music). Enter this self-watering wick cord, a plant light with a timer, and a lot of blind optimism. Spoiler alert: it worked! Now, let’s not pretend I knew what I was doing. I didn’t. And I made one rookie mistake—the cord I bought was way too thick, so my plants drank like they were on spring break. Thankfully, I had a large tray under them, or it could’ve been a mess.Pro tip for fellow plant amateurs: test this setup before you jet off. A few days of trial and error can save you some soggy regret. But here’s the headline: all my plants lived. Mission accomplished! Even for someone as clueless as me.

I tried using the wicks to water my cannabis plants while I was on vacation for 4 days. I came home and my plants were droopy, they were only about a foot tall so I figured the wicks would work. Unfortunately when I felt the wicks they were dry. I had three wicks in each plant container coming out of a five gallon water bottle. I might have had it set up wrong so it could have been my fault. I think if you put the water container above the plants it might work.

This self-watering wick cord truly works —easy to set up but just as easy to get wrong without proper preparation. If you’re new to using self-watering wicks, I highly recommend dedicating at least three days to understanding how it works and adjusting it to suit your needs. Reading the instructions carefully is crucial. I ordered a thick cord, and as a thoughtful bonus, the package included a thinner cord, which turned out to be extremely helpful for my setup. The effectiveness of the wick largely depends on your environment and how closely you follow the instructions. In my case, living in the hot and slightly humid climate of Australia (30–36°C), I found that the wick delivered water too quickly for my small plant, which only requires 120 ml per week. To address this, I experimented with the included thinner cord. Here’s what worked for me: I tested the wicking process by transferring water between two containers rather than directly watering my plant. By gradually adding ***tight*** knots to the cord (ensuring the knots remained above water), I managed to slow the water flow to an ideal rate. Once I was satisfied, I replaced the receiving container with my plant pot.If the water transfer rate is too slow without any knots and you want to deliver water faster then you may need to use a thicker cord or multiple cords simultaneously. Testing your setup thoroughly before using it with real plants—especially if you’re preparing for a holiday—is essential.Although I was tempted to deduct a star for the tricky initial setup, I realised that this would be unfair. Much like a great guitar in the hands of a beginner, the potential of this product shines only when you take the time to learn how to use it effectively. For me, this cord is a 5 stars.

I was gone for two months and had no one to water my plants and this thing actually worked! I tested it the week before I left, added some knots to slow the water flow, made sure the jug of water was big enough, and low and behold I come back and my plants are thriving and even sprouting new leaves! Very happy

I was traveling for 6 weeks and required a simple self watering set up for my indoor plant. This wick cord work really well. The soil continued to remain damp when I return. Highly recommended.
