I bought the first of what will soon be two sets of pick-ups to replace a set I loved but the solder situation went pear-shaped when I opened up my B.E.A.D. tuned bass. Not reparable. As the lead wire off the coil broke off. And the plastic cover is glued on, etc....At any rate,I soldered the new one in, tuned the bass, and opened up the tone knob to be blown away by the richness, clarity, and depth.The pickup in my B.E.A.D. made the one in my E.A.D.G. bass suffer by comparison. So.much so that I felt compelled to remove a perfectly excellent stock pick-up in my other 4 String Fretless P for another one of these exemplary "sleeper" gems.It's like a reviewer before me said, just as good as the S.D.'s for half the price.DO NOT HESITATE TO BUY THESE.You've found what you want.As "vintage" as anything you might desire. But with a "modern transparent" fullness and punch I truly was not expecting.Five Stars indeed!

I got this for a Rickenbacker kit I was building. This pickup is quite powerful and really sounds good.

I wanted to know what these sounded like, but couldn't. The pickup covers are too large by 1-2mm in a standard Fender /Squire P bass pickguard. I have a set of Seymour Duncan pickups and those fit fine. Same for a Dimarzio set. Why didn't anyone test the pickup cover size with a REAL pickguard before shipping them out? Does the seller even know what they're selling? Returned them along with my disappointment.
