I recently moved across the country and in the process lost the finial (Which I replaced with the ) and harp for one of my favorite lamps.To pick the harp size I used this formula: Overall Shade Height - Fitter Recess = harp size (length)In my case that was 12" - 1/2" = 11.5" harp length (ideally). I went with 10" because it was cheaper and easier to find on amazon, and a pretty close match.I am really happy with the ease of the two piece installation and the overall quality of the harp.

just what i needed i hada bead shade with an 8 inch harp and the bulb was largely hidden, this was ideal, very well made. good value

The harp is nicely made. However, it is brass finished, not brass. It does not pass the magnet test. The extra width is helpful for large CFLs.

I needed a grow light to get some of my plants through the winter while indoors. The CFL bulbs were too big for the 7 or 8 inch harp that was on the lamp. I replaced the old harp with this one and it works great - replacement was easy, the new bulb does not show, and my plants are happy!

The package says it's a 10" harp, but from the shoulder to the bottom prong/base, it is only 9.75"...so it's not the seller's fault, but the product itself is mislabeled. Watch out for the Jandorf brand. I mean, do the Chinese know how to measure? Sorry if this sounds prejudiced, but if you need 10", you need 10" and not approximately 10". Just sayin'.

Purchased this so I could use larger wattage Alzo cfl photo bulbs that were too tall for my lamp ... Did not use the bottom piece as it would have required disassembling the socket to replace the supporting part underneath and I wasn't sure how to reassemble! The top half of this harp snapped into the existing base and the shade fits well, so all is good. The old lamp feels much brighter now! "

I needed to lower my lamp shades and these did the trick. Much easier and less expensive than buying larger shades.

Like another reviewer, I ordered the 10" harp and received a harp clearly labeled 8". Not sure it's even worth the hassle of returning a $5 item.
