I bought this as a distraction piece for whenever we are traveling long distances or eating in restaurants. My child was 1.5 when I bought this for him- he is a little over 2 now. If your child has an issue putting things in their mouth, I would choose a different design. This particular one does not have a string connecting the pen to the pad. The pen itself can be dangerous if not used properly. The battery on this has lasted since we bought it in December. Ease of writing is exceptional! Performance has surpassed my expectations since my child is rough on things. It is the perfect size to slide into your diaper bag, too! When my other son comes of age, I'll be purchasing another.

Edit: Increasing from 3 to 4 stars. The company very kindly reached out to see if I was happy with this drawing pad and immediately offered a replacement. Could instantly tell that the new one had a newer battery and didn't need to change it right away, also seems to be a newer version as this one came with a little booklet with FAQs and drawing suggestions. It's actually growing on us too, my son, husband, and I have been enjoying doodling. New one isn't drastically different as far as brightness or durability but I'm less concerned about the battery popping out since we didn't lose the screw this time. Suggestion to the company would be to attach the stylus to the pad with a string, but otherwise this is a nice product.Original review: Not nearly as bright as it appears on the photo. Would not erase at first, regardless of the switch in lock/unlock position and no replacement battery included in package. I happened to have a new battery and screwdriver small enough for the VERY TINY screw and replaced the battery... But lost the screw in those few seconds it took to replace it. Battery cover isn't secure without it and I for sure won't be leaving my toddler to play with it unattended. It does erase now with the new battery but is no brighter. My son is enjoying it, though it's extremely lightweight and flimsy so I don't expect it to remain unbroken for terribly long. I'm glad I decided to just give it to him now because I'd consider it kinda disappointing as a Christmas gift.

My kids love these! They are so easy to use! My youngest was able to start using it by 18 months. The colors are bright and easy to see. It’s a perfect size to take with you wherever. I stick them in my purse for my kids to use either in the car, at a restaurant, while we are grocery shopping. Also great for traveling! Kids can easily draw with the pen and erase with a click of a button.

This fantastic for grandkids in fact I plann to buy more for the husband and I even for work you can write a grocery list or whatever lock it and take on the go ( small enough).No need to waste paper

The Orsen writing tablet is a decent option for keeping young kids entertained. It's lightweight, easy to use, and the screen clears quickly with the push of a button. My kids enjoy doodling and drawing on it.However, the screen isn't the brightest, and the images can be a bit hard to see in certain lighting conditions. Additionally, the stylus could be a bit sturdier. It feels a little flimsy.Overall, it's a good budget-friendly choice for parents looking for a mess-free activity for their kids.

I adopted a family this year for Christmas. I only purchased toys that would withstand a beating and still be interesting to them after Christmas. Its been 3 months now and they are still playing with all the toys. They seem to be holding up so far.
