After breaking in the cartridge for several months I will say the stylus has a nice neutral clean sound. Rich highs and warm bass. I will invest in the black in the future because reading many reviews and most say the black is a big upgrade to the blue.

Was running an AT-WMN95 Conical cart, on a Technics Sl-D3 into a H. H. Scott 222C tube amp. Wasn't sure I needed an upgrade, but went for it anyway. Wow, what a difference! I'm hearing more pronounced vocals and fuller mid-range. The pre-mounted lined up perfectly and all I needed to do was adjust the tracking weight. Well worth the investment.

I expected a small bump up over the AT-VM95E but the difference is staggering. So much more clarity, much finer details, and noticeably louder in a good way.If you are looking to bump up your record quality and you have a decent turntable already this is a great investment.

What a quality needle. I couldn’t be happier with my purchase. I owned Ortofon Reds for years now, but got a 3rd turntable, recently, and wasn’t enjoying the LP120’s stock needle by AT. It wasn’t a needle good for samplers, no back cueing, no scratching. Hence the need for an Ortofon. To get any better than this needle, you have to spend $700 on the bronze one, which at that point is apples and oranges. Before this I was using a tube amp, but I found the ortofon m2 blue was losing some high end transients and I wasn’t fond of the difference. Strange, my Audio Technica LP120 actually sounds more full with the Ortofon M2’s in self amp mode on the LP120, no external preamp. Not sure if this is the amazing clarity of the needle, or that the LP120 has a good amp in it. But ish sounds good!!! 10/10.

My turntable is an Audio-Technica AT-120X with the 95 green cartridge it came with. Sounds really good, but I read some articles about upgrading and decided to try the Ortofon 2m Blue. I have to say that the sound is noticeably better. The vocals jump out, the background instruments stronger, and the whole sound is much fuller. I am very happy with this purchase. Premounted is the way to go.

I decided to upgrade my old cartridge to this 2m blue. Such a great improvement to the sound. I'm happy to really crank up the volume now and hear the rich clarity. So nice to have it pre-installed, making it a good value. Tone arm shell screwed in, I adjusted the counterweight and it plays nicely, easy peasy.

This is a huge upgrade in terms of dynamics from my previous cartridge, which was an older Ortofon Concorde, refitted with the discontinued Gold stylus. There was a week-long break-in period where I thought I had made a bad decision and was prepared to submit a return. But once I hit the recommended 20-ish hours of listening, the muddiness I'd been worried about cleared up and I am left with velvety smooth low end, crisp highs and great separation across instruments on my best sounding records. I also am glad that the tracking force is about half as much as the DJ cartridge I'd been using. That always hung in the back of my head each time I played an expensive record.

The reviews speak for themselves. This has been a labor of love resurrecting my Technics SLB-1 turntable I purchased in 1977. Unfortunately the Shure M95HE stylus died long ago, dirty album ripped the diamond off but I did get thousands of hours of listening and recording so...The Ortofon is so far a great replacement and I am not hearing any of the hiss or electrical noise others have complained about and I listen at extremely high levels so I would think if anyone is going to hear it then it would be me.Now, do keep in mind, I am using what was a $200 turntable when new 47 years ago, wow and flutter is one of the prime reasons I bought this turntable then and it's ease in queuing. Jump to today and I am so very pleased and this stylus is just getting broken in. Pretty sure when it is broken and I have the ultrasonic washer fully up and running for cleaning my album collection it will just be better. But for now I am very pleased.
