For some reason, I previously thought it was a good idea to spend less money and get a battery operated product like the one in the 2nd picture. After going through two of those costing around $20 each in two years, I realized I was wasting my money. They are cheap, flimsy, with tiny motors that lock up with thick peanut butter.I finally decided to get a real machine, with a cord, and a serious motor. This Oster (1st picture), is just a smaller version of my big blender. I think I could put rocks in it and they would turn into dust. It’s the difference between a 49 Volkswagen, and a hemi-powered ram truck.If you want a sturdy, reliable machine, that will last a long time, spend a little extra and get this Oster!

I WAS in love with this blender it works amazing woth protien powders and cut frozen fruit. PROBLEM is it slowly shreds apart.....wasn't sure what the tiny shreded black pieces were they looked like eraser crumbs....well today I went to blend and CHUNKS came off. The blade can no longer connect to blend up anything. Huge bummer. It even looks like the connector on the base got damaged from not making proper contact?? Not sure. I wish they kept the old model. That lasted me years....not 2 months

Update: We had this for 2.5 months before it stopped working. Started it up one morning and it made an awful sound and we could smell rubber burning. I contacted Oster directly and I will say their Customer Service is fantastic. Already sending me a replacement (a different model)._____I wish I could give this 4.5 stars, but because I love this product so much, I went with 5.We've had an older version of the MyBlend for probably 10 years and we loved it until it finally gave up the ghost (in the machine). I wanted to try this one, because I trust the brand. It's just as good, but with a stronger motor, so it blends even faster/better. I like that you can now click the bottle into place and use the button on the front to blend as much as you want. The older version would start blending as soon as you secured the bottle.The bottle and blade don't leak and are easy to clean. This is a very lightweight blender. It is also pretty child safe in my opinion.It's exactly what we need, apart from one thing. This thing is LOUD. We have to warn each other when we are about to turn it on so that no-one has a mild heart attack. If you don't mind that, it's a really good product.

This is a great size for a to-go drink. Love that it comes with a spout to drink from once blended. It blends well and works with ice which is great since some of these smaller blenders don't work to blend ice. Overall its a great purchase for my morning protein smoothies. Its quick and compact. I will need another one for work so that I don't have to take it back and forth. Love it! If you are looking for a small blender for on-the-go then definitely buy this.

In the summer I love to make smoothies with frozen berries. I had an Oster mini blender similar to this one, but I wore it out. This is a perfect replacement. They improved the design by adding a power button. My only complaint is I have to hold down the button for it to blend. It really doesn't take long at all to liquify a full 20oz container of frozen strawberries and some soda water into a refreshing smoothie. The design is compact, perfect for my lack of counterspace.

I bought two of these to replace an older Oster MyBlend that I liked a lot but it died after about two years of smoothies. The first one the plastic teeth broke off the first time I tried to use it and it would not spin the blades and then died so I got a replacement, and the second one also smoked and left a terrible burning smell so I returned it. It was not over full and was just for a standard smoothie recipe. Now I have a Ninja Blender Nutri Pro Personal Blender and that is the way to go! Don't waste your money on the Oster.

This is a replacement blender for a previous personal blender. Both are loud. Both get the job done. Husband uses it virtually every day. For the previous blender, the blades/seal gasket finally wore out and I ordered a replacement part. Then about 6 months after, the motor went. From my experience so far with this blender, I'm expecting about the same path... But why I gave this model 3 stars is that within the first month of using it, my husband used his thumb to flip open the "drinking top" that comes with it - the plastic just broke off. So now that piece is completely useless (won't stay closed in any way). It really does blend well though.
