This is not like your standard "carpet stain remover". This is an enzyme so there is science behind why it is a superior product. Carpet stain cleaners don't remove the real problem AND they leave detergent residue behind that attracts more dirt and odor. Detergents lighten the stain on the surface but don't do anything for what has soaked down into the lower area. Eventually the stain will surface again and the perfume that was covering the odor will wear off quickly.This product has a light fragrance and a mild cleanser. It contains enzymes that break the chemical bond with the bacteria in the urine, vomit, blood, or feces. Bodily fluid stains actually create a chemical bond with our carpet that cannot be broken with detergent and perfume. Once the bond is broken with an enzymatic cleaner, the enzymes then "eat up" the bacteria (continue to break it down and down until it is gone) so that the source of the stain and odor is truly removed and not just covered.We have a pug mix that drags her butt on the floor because her anal sacs do not empty as they should when she poops--sorry to be blunt but I think people are looking for real info when reading these reviews. The worst part about this is that she leaves no stains but a REALLY horrendous odor! If you've ever smelled it you know what I'm talking about--like rotted fish. We keep a bottle of this stuff sitting around all the time. We go behind her and spray the rug whenever she has been dragging. It doesn't cover the odor, it destroys it! This is the only thing I have ever found that works! Sometimes at night before bed I'll just spray large areas of a room and leave it, because I know she does this when we're not home to see where. No odor in my carpet and no residue left behind to attract dirt.I have extremely sensitive skin to the extent that I cannot use most soaps, shampoos, toothpastes, and household cleaners. This product has proven to be completely harmless to us and to our pet. I exercise on the floors where I use this. That's how I discovered the odor and went furiously in search of something to get rid of it!!!I use a rag like you normally would if I'm cleaning up a stain, and I use this on food and beverage stains as well pet-related things. You want to soak up as much urine as possible--the logical things you would do when you have a carpet issue. For her type of stainless odor I just spray the area down pretty well, leave it on the carpeting and let it work it's magic. I've been using this for over a year and I'm very satisfied. Highly recommended for households with pets, children, sick people. You can find it in retail stores but Amazon tends to have a better price and a reliable stock. I've found WalMart sometimes has it and sometimes doesn't, but I really don't like giving them my money so Amazon is my go-to for this item.Please let me know if you found this information helpful. Update 6/15/2016-- I just wanted to update for anyone wondering about how well this product actually works. IT WORKS!! I really am happy with how well this works. I do notice that in spots that used to be "problems" i.e. they keep peeing in the same spot, I have not had any issues with my dogs trying to pee there anymore. This is as close to scientific proof as I am going to get to this product being effective. My friends said I was being paranoid, but I used to feel like I smelled pee when I walked in my front door---even after shampooing!! But, since using this product I no longer have that problem. I will continue to buy this product if I need it again (I still have a bottle from before, so it is so effective you do not need a bunch. I originally bought two because I was unsure how much I needed, but one did the trick. I have a four bedroom house and used it in the carpet cleaner in the living room and bedrooms).I use this in my carpet cleaner. I thought this was carpet cleaning solution, but it is not. This is actually an enhancement for your carpet shampooer. In order to use in your machine, you will put 4oz of solution in addition to your regular carpet cleaning solution. So far, it appears to work. I have no scientific evidence to support the actual "working" factors of these enzymes, but I feel like it works better than any other product I have used that just masks a scent for a while.Originally I thought this was only solution, but since it is not, it comes with a sprayer. This has come in handy because I can also use it as a spot treatment.The product comes packed very tightly and the lid is a screw cap and they include a sprayer with each bottle. This is great because it means your box will not leak. My box arrived dry and with full bottles of solution.One strange thing.....I ordered 32oz thinking this was a bigger bottle, but they just sent me two of the other size bottles. However, this does not really make any difference. If anything it is a plus because now I can keep one upstairs and one downstairs for quick spot treating.The scent is hard to describe. It is not really a scent, but it does have a smell. It is not bad though, and I imagine it is meant to just dissipate and I am smelling the enzymes in the solution. After I apply this I do not necessarily smell it.This product DID NOT stain my carpet or leave any bleach-type spots--which is something other products have done. I have light brown/tan carpets.I am very satisfied and I will probably order again in the future if the need arises.

This was easy to apply after lifting up the corner of the rug where a cat urinated on the carpet. It is best to pull the rug so the liquid can be applied directly to the plywood sub floor. It took several applications, but it finally worked fairly well.

As far as enzymatic odor removers go, this is BY FAR the best smelling, not chemical scented, SOOOO reasonably priced, actually works cleaner available! For the last 20 years I've rotated between Out! and Nature's Miracle, and they work the same way. Some years back Nature's Miracle changed their formula, and it became so heavily fragranced that it instantly sent my allergies and asthma into maximum overdrive! I emailed and pled my case, and was essentially told "oh well!" I tried other scents and formulas, and they all smelled too strong. I'll never understand why companies who have cult followings and tried and true products go and change their formulas! If it ain't broke, don't fix it! Anyhoo... they lost my business permanently. Out! (blue bottle) has a pleasant mild scent, removes stains and odors with enzymes, and is super affordable! If you foster dogs and cats, or have less than perfect pets (don't we all?), this product is a MUST HAVE! You can also find it at Walmart... when it's not sold out anyway, and it is under $5 American dollars.I only vouch for the BLUE bottle of Out! The red or "advanced" with Oxy power doesn't work as well as the blue, and I don't believe it has the enzymes in it, and it costs a couple bucks more. Maybe it's more for stains than odors, but it simply doesn't work as well.

I foster cats for a rescue, and thanks to freshly-neutered males coming into my home, I have experienced the absolute worst of cat urine and marking odors. I've tried many products, and this is one of the best, and certainly the best for the price it's currently being sold at (under $7). I've used it on walls, leather furniture, upholstery, cushions, curtains, wood, and pretty much every surface in the house (pro tip - neuter your cats and save yourself this stinky experience). It doesn't simply cover up the smell. It removes it. Just don't be stingy on porous surfaces - saturate, and then add some more. I've just ordered more so I always have a stash, and have a spare or two to share. Seriously, if you've got something that you think you might have to throw out because of the cat pee smell, try this stuff. It might just save you a bundle.

It removes stains and odors completely, and dries extremely fast. We have a puppy who has a bit of a "leaking problem" while she sleeps....and she often snoozes up on our dark grey couch, and needless to say, this product has been a lifesaver.Unfortunately, we've blown through the first bottle due to the amount we use it....purchasing more right now!
