It's nothing more than the equivalent of any camera IR. It's light is very localized to a small area.

Using this light outside to aide a small night camera. It's giving me 10 times the light of the camera. I've had for almost 2mths. and it's still working.

4 of 8 of my cameras face each other so their IR lights make it look like the outside lights are on (4&5, 7&8). I got this item to face one on side of house (6) to make it brighter but it's really dim. Doesn't meet my expectations. I'm Returning it.

This product boosted my night field of vision. I am going to purchWhen powering up this device, make sure that your power supply is 12vdc. Even though the label may say12vdc it can actually put out a higher voltage. Check your supply with a meter to getan actual reading.ase another one for my other camera.

I purchased one light and within a week, only about 4 lights illuminated. I returned it and ordered another and again, within a week, only a few lights would illuminate. Absolute pieces of junk.

This light makes a great addon light , but your best bet is getting a camera with IR lights built in,because its aimed right where the camera sees , the more illuminator leds built in the better.

These IR LEDs are Ir leds that are still in the visible spectrum and emit a red glow. If you are looking for an IR flood that is completely dark and does not emit a red glow, you have to spend the extra money for 5ose IR leds that have a higher wavelength and are NOT in the visible spectrum.The description of this device, at the time of this review does not give the Ir led wavelength or tell you it’s still in the visible le spectrum.

These illuminators work very well providing wide, even IR lighting for my outdoor cameras. You get what you pay for so they are not super high quality but do the job. At 50% duty cycle, my first set lasted about 2 years before half of the LEDs burned out but again, that’s great for the money. If you want higher performance, spend more $$

Mounted this inside a garage window to provide additional nighttime illumination for an outdoor security camera. The IR lamps provide sufficient lighting but they flicker constantly. This causes false “movement†alerts to the camera which then triggers the recording mode. The result is that unnecessary recording space is used and it’s extremely time-consuming to search for any real movement or security concerns.

Watched a YouTube video discussing this product and started my research. Not only does it extend how far my night vision can see but even better.. the spiders don't cover my cams in webs anymore as they are more attracted to these mounted nearby. That alone was worth the money. No more false alarms in the middle of the night and having to go out with a broom. Highly suggest.
