My front yard is rocky as all get out and I was looking for something that I could use to make holes for tiedown spikes when I saw this and thought to myself, well if it's good enough for ice it should work for dirt. As far as I could see, it came packaged just fine, with no defects. Getting it out you get the axe and a lanyard for it. I haven't used the lanyard but this makes putting holes in so much easier. I can either stab where I want with the axe or use the bottom to get down in there. All in all, while I don't use it for its intended use it has worked great for me.

The quality of this ice pick is first rate. We live on a farm and often have to break ice off of water buckets in the winter. Or when we are hiking, break ice away for a safer walk. This ice pick is sharp; like easily cut your hand sharp be it the front pick or the back tail of the pick. A very useful tool we didn't know we needed until we got one.
