The winch that comes with this is garbage. You have to install and build a platform before you realize that the winch is crap. it says that the weight capacity is 300lbs but when I built a shelf that weighed 60lbs and put 200lbs on it the winch would lift it and finally sheared the pin. in the gears.

This pulley system is awful. The hand crank winch is the worst that I ever dealt with. I will be returning this winch system and getting something else that is faster and better for what I will be lifting up. I was only going to put a pull over ice shanti on it to get out of my way in the garage. I don’t recommend this product to anyone.

This item showed up with parts exhibiting significant amounts of corrosion. For a product that is going to be advertised as weight bearing and is going to be used to hold 300lb objects in the air, this is a serious safety concern. I will not be able to use this item with any confidence. All other parts arrived within standard acceptable condition. Unfortunately this one part makes the whole system unacceptable.

It looks like a well built unit. I am using bigger and more heavy duty screws than what came with the unit just to make it that much more safe. I will be building a lightweight platform to hang from the unit, that way I can lay my JEEP doors on top. After that I will back my JEEP under it and attach my roof so that I can lift it up to the ceiling for storage.FYI- I found it more cost effective to purchase it here rather than locate and purchase all the parts separately.
