I really love this paper, it is more of a plastic feeling so I prefer to use ballpoint pens with it. My specific favorits on this paper are the Dr. Grip COG and the Uni-Jetstream. I cant reccomend this enough, it gives a great amount of friction for precise writing.

Buy this notebook! It's smooth and so pleasant to work with. The pages can be fickle to tear and there is some smearing if you touch it soon after writing. But I would buy this again and again, if only for the smoothness of the writing!

These are HEAVY and feel so QUALITY. But I will say that you need to do some research on what pens work properly with stone paper. It just doesn't hold certain inks well and they'll stay wet for hours or even days - just to rub off at any time. Good paper though.

I love the feel of the paper in this notebook. Having said that, gel pens don’t work well on this paper. Especially when you’re left handed and the smudge factor is increased by a million percent. Finding the right pen to use with this notebook was trial and error, but ultimately I found that a standard BIC ballpoint pen works best. Typically I use Pentel Energel pens because they dry quickly and I love gel pens. But on this paper, the BIC pen glided just the same as my Energel pens. And most importantly, it didn’t smudge much. That’s a miracle for a lefty. Overall I love the high quality feel of the notebook and I’d recommend it with the correct writing instrument.Side note - I also tried a standard BIC mechanical pencil with this notebook but it caused the pages to rip.

These are really nice stone paper notebooks. I bought one a few years ago and loved it. It’s full now, so I recently bought a couple more. Somehow they’re the same but also slightly worse? Everything smears, including #2 pencil, and the paper is thinner and far easier to poke through than I remember. I wrote in my last one with a mechanical pencil with no problems, but the new ones can’t handle it. The paper is nice and smooth, but I don’t think I’ll be buying any more stone paper. It’s too finicky for my taste. If you’ve never tried these, consider before you buy that you’ll need to experiment with different types of pens and only certain pens will fully dry on this paper. Everything else will smear and never dry, and you can’t put much pressure on the ‘hard to tear’ paper without it…tearing. Didn’t have these issues with the first one I owned, but for whatever reason these do.

This paper is very smooth, almost like a fabric. Looks very nice when I use gel pens! I definitely recommend!

I noticed there are quite a lot of reviews that are just plain negative. Some two about how their cheap pen worked well, but their expensive pens did not, or their mechanical pencils ripped the pages. Get over it man. We are in way too precarious of a position to complain our pens designed for tree pulp paper do not work on stone paper, well guess what, the pens are not made for stone paper, so of course they do not work the same. And maybe use a wider lead on the stone paper to prevent tearing or not write as hard. Whoever came up with this idea did something very innovative. To utilize rocks for paper, the fricken ingenuity that went into that is amazing, if only more people had the same sustainable, circular, mindset regarding product development, we as a collective society would be in a much better position. The human imagination is only bound by our own lack of creativity, those who complain are part of the problem, not the solution. We need more innovative ideas, not more whining that did not fix anything!

These note books are what I have been looking for for along time. For someone who loves to write on physical paper, I could never find a notebook I loved, but the look and feel of this book and the way it feels when you actually write on it, even with a cheap ballpoint pen feels amazing. I use these notebooks for writing because the pen just glides so easily over the stone paper. There is no friction at all and it makes writing so effortless.
