These are hard plastic tips that seem very durable. They have stood up to high heat and a lot of cooking and are working well. Worth the price. Comfortable to hold and not too heavy. No signs of rust.

I used them in small crock pots for the sausage and bacon on Easter Sunday and they worked great! To lock and unlock the tongs is simple, as opposed to the cheap one I had been using. The tong ends are silicone so cleaning them is very easy; I handwashed them to be certain they didn't get damaged in the dishwasher. Great quality and I highly recommend these!

These nylon tips are stiff & strong, perfect for easily gripping & turning food. I’ve used my pair for 14 years without any damage to my pans, They’re advertised as heat resistant and I’ve used them on every cooking surface including my cast iron skillet. BUT a warning, my foolish mistake last week was using my old 9†tongs on the gas grill, melted the nylon instantly. Buy Edlund Heavy Duty (USA) for the bbq. I’m so happy that OXO still makes this classic, exactly the same as my original. OXO also makes tongs with silicone tips which I saw in the store but they didn’t seem stiff enough to turn chicken pieces.

This is the second set I’ve purchased and not to replace the previous set which is well over 15 yrs old but to add to our utensil collection. The new pair seem to be the same great quality as our well loved ones. Very happy! If you need tongs look no more. Buy these!

Turn stuff, pick stuff up. Rinse and repeat. That's what I want from a set of tongs.Turn stuff, pick stuff up... Most tongs will do this well enough. These do it really well, they feel nice in the hand and it's easy to grip food, etc, firmly.Rinse and repeat... Is it just me, but I like stuff to last. I've a few OXO items and they seem to last really well. Yes, there are cheaper alternatives. But as the saying goes "buy well, buy once". The OXO Good Grips Locking Tongs feel solid and well built. I expect them to keep going a long, long, time.What else do I like:The grips, on the handle, are slightly "sticky", it stops them slipping about.They can be locked closed and that mechanism doubles as a hoop for hanging them, so plenty of storage optionsBeen through the dishwasher a couple of times and have come out looking great.
