These salt and pepper shakers arrived just as pictured. They appear to be sturdy and durable. I like how you can twist the lid and close the holes or select larger or smaller holes.

I use these shakers only for salt, so I can't speak to their use for pepper. These shakers are easy to clean, fill and use. They seem to be well made, so I'm hoping they'll last a very long time considering their cost.Update: I discovered that the metal cap can be removed simply by twisting it past the first two 'stops' that expose the holes where the salt comes out. Removing the cap exposes all the holes, which enables me to more quickly salt a piece of meat prior to cooking it.

I only use the saltshaker because we don't use pepper. I love this saltshaker because I use fine ground pink Himalayan salt, and this saltshaker allows me to adjust how much salt comes out of the shaker, so I don't get too much salt. I also love the ability to completely close the top, so the salt doesn't clump up. Great shaker and I would definitely buy again.

Holes in the pepper shaker are too small (at the largest hole setting) to accommodate course ground pepper. Salt shaker does find in either setting. If using finely ground pepper, ok, but not course pepper. I'll drill out holes slightly and it will work better.

These are the usual OXO good quality, I particularly like that the holes can be adjusted to cut down on my husband's overuse of salt!

We use these to serve powdered Cayenne Pepper and it works great. The silver lid is easy to turn, has 3 positions, including Closed! Product dispenses well, easy to predict shaking and prevent dumping too much on your food at a time.Lid Positions lock in well, but move easily when turned. The positions are:- Closed- 3x3 small holes (dispenses very lightly)- 3x1 larger holes (dispenses slightly more, but doesn't just dump out)If we needed more, we would get them in a heart beat!
