My husband was complaining about my long hair quickly causing the shower/tub drain to drain slowly and he was having to clean the drain a lot. His short hair never caused this problem before we started sharing a shower. I also use a very emollient body wash which I believe tends to adhere to the hair going down the drain making things more gunky. I thought this device probably wouldn’t stay in place and might let hair slip under it and down into the drain anyway. Although it says “ weighted” , it’s not very heavy. And the edges don’t really suction to the tub. But, despite that I was pleasantly surprised! I have used it 3 or 4 times now and even though the water from the tub spout hits directly against it, it didn’t move. Yes the tub does drain more slowly within a few minutes as the hair and lotion like body was start collecting around this device. But I find that after I turn off the shower and wrap my hair in a towel and dry off and put on my robe, and put away my toiletries, the tub has drained just fine. And this device catches an AMAZING amount of hair. If any gets through, it couldn’t be much. And the slimy body wash has accumulated too. I just pick it up and get a paper towel and wipe everything off and into the trash. The hair catcher is clean and dry ready for next time. I don’t leave it in the shower because my husband doesn’t need it and there’s no point to leaving it wet to get gunky. I think cleaning it each time is crucial. Otherwise it collects so much hair and stays wet which gets gross fast. It will also last longer if it is cleaned after every “long hair” use. My hair is barely on top of my shoulders and not very thick. I think this would be a life saver if you have long thick hair or multiple longer hair users in your home.

It's nice and tall to completely cover the pop up drain. Great value for the money. It looks nice with the stainless steel top and light grey silicon base. The water drains well, while catching hair. And I have very long hair, so this saves me from buying drain cleaner all of the time. Highly recommend.

I am not a frequent rater, but I spent some time with the two most popular drain covers for pop-up drains (OXO and Lekeye) and I wanted to share what I learned. The bottom line: neither is perfect, but I'm going to stick with the OXO.What I am looking for:--works with a pop-up drain (photo), TIE--stays put when showering, TIE--catches my hair (long straight caucasian hair), Lekeye wins by a little--allows water flow, Lekeye wins until there is a hair buildup (see details)--easy to clean, OXO wins by a landslideLonger version:I first bought the OXO for my new shower that I wanted to protect from hair clogs. I liked it, but every time I showered, there would be soapy water left standing at the end. This is because my hair would start to clog the bottom holes, and THERE ARE NO HOLES ON THE BASE (photo). I got into the habit of cleaning it off and then giving the shower a quick cold-water rinse, EVERY TIME I showered. It was fine, but I thought I could do better. So I bought the Lekeye because I could see that there are a lot more holes on the bottom part of the cover. Because of that, it does drain better than the OXO, especially at first. The issue is that the base is covered in little nubs (photo) to catch the hairs. And it does a great job of it! The problem is, I find it hard to get the hair off of the nubs. So I kept my habit of cleaning every time, but each day a little more hair would remain on the cover. So now, it no longer drains that well and is kind of gross after a few days of use.Bottom line: if you are concerned about your hair slipping through, the Lekeye is a more "sticky" cover. My hair is not particularly thick, though, and the OXO catches a ton of hair. I'm not concerned that much is getting through. But in the end, given that I need to clean both regularly, I'm going with OXO which is a quick wipe and then done. I still can't get the hair off the Lekeye to pass it on.

Best purchase ever! I have long dark hair and while I am careful about it going down the tub/shower drain, inevitably some goes down and clogs up the drain. To avoid continually snaking the drain, this solved the problem perfectly! My shower/tub has a "raised" spigot (or whatever its called) and this fits over it with no issue. I did remove the screw cap from the top of the spigot so it sits more evenly against the surface of the tub. It stops any hair from going down the drain while allowing the water to go down the drain. No more snaking the drain!

I have shoulder-length, baby-fine and slippery hair. We used a tub shroom for years in our old apartment and it seemed to catch everything. Our new apartment shower has a seemingly non-removeable popup drain (we tried unscrewing it and looking online for other methods, but it just won't come out), so the shroom wasn't an option. This seemed to be the best solution, as it would fit over the pop-up drain. It seemed to work well enough, though I noticed that I rarely had to clean it. A couple of months later, however, our tub was draining slower and slower. Drano didn't work, so I used one of those plastic drain snakes and, lo and behold, a huge nasty clump of conditionery hair came out. Specifically, my hair. My boyfriend's thicker hair, which was getting caught by the hair catcher, was nowhere to be seen.I decided to test it. With the water running, I placed a few strands of my hair -- an amount that usually sheds in the shower -- right in front of the hair catcher. They were sucked right through one of the holes and into the drain. I think the idea with this design is that the hair will generally be too heavy or long to go through the holes and just end up wrapped around in a clump. But for my particular hair texture, there's not enough resistance.

This is a great addition to a girls shower! My daughter has a tub in her bathroom and the closure pops out, so this covers it perfectly and catches all her hair!

I was worried that went the water level in the tub surpasses the hair drainer, it will float up, but it does not :D! It has successfully caught all my hair, covered the unremovable pop-up drain, and stayed in place. ALso easy to clean too

Verrutscht in der Wanne nicht und fängt alle Haare ab während das Wasser gut abläuft. Das Produkt ist gut zu reinigen ohne das es nach Monaten abgenutzt wirkt, klare Kaufempfehlung!

I bought two of these - one for the shower which had had a blocked drain and I didn't feel like having to unblock it again! The other for the kitchen sink which has always had drainage problems. These have really been game changers. They stop mess from getting into your drains and clogging things up and are easy to clean before you ever get to that 'yuk' stage. They also stay in place well unless you dislodge them yourself. Highly recommend and worth paying a bit extra.
