I didn’t realize how dependent I had become on this thing until I used someone else’s flimsy holder. The grip on the roll is great, allowing one to pull off the desired paper towel sections without unrolling the entire thing. It is not so tight that you can’t get it on and off, which is good. These are the absolute best, offer the perfect amount of resistance and are heavy enough to easily tear off strips on at a time and using only one hand. Perfect product.

The base is quite heavy and has a rubber gasket that sort of grips the countertop so we can peel off a paper towel without the entire apparatus sliding around or tipping over. One small problem is that the core inside Spanish paper towel rolls is a bit too small for it. When we place a new roll on the spindle, it's just a bit too snug of a fit and the cardboard core gets stuck while the paper towels slide down coming off the core. We still use it but it's not pretty.
