Love these decorative copper nails - got them for a wood and brass woodworking project as decorative fasteners. You will def want to drill pilot holes for these, and I find placing a piece of aluminum can on the end of your hammer can help prevent additional scratching (The ones I ordered come to a pyramid point, so the hammer had a tendency to scrape off to one side)

These are very soft, and it took me a while to get good at using them, so I ended up with a lot of bent, unusable nails. So... buy extras. You definitely have to pre-drill your hole to just the right size if you want to avoid bending them and still want them to have some grip in the wood. Also, when hammering them in, I found that I had better luck getting them aligned and using one or two swift hits, rather than trying to gently tap-tap-tap them in. Especially when nailing them into hardwoods (oak). The end result is very nice, though. Very classy look for wood projects (especially when using aged or faux-aged woods).

Nails like this can be hard to find locally. They're often used in very specialized projects. They both provide a securing function and a decorative look. Pilot hole pre-drilling is often a good idea as copper is softer than a steel nail. I'm pleased with the quality and that they're made in the USA.

The decorative nails look nice but the product description states "Rosehead top, approx 3/8" - 7/16" diameter" This is incorrect the pack of 100 nails I just received has a nail head diameter of 1/4" at best. this makes a big difference in the decorative portion of the nail!
