*** May, of 2022. Still using it very consistently. A good purchase. ****** Update almost two years later. I still use the thing all the time. Still a great piece of equipment. ****Original review*Originally purchased a while back. I wound up with a larger tablet recently, and inquired to the seller about purchasing only the longer arms to accommodate the larger tablet. The seller offered to simply sell me the complete newer model at a discount. I don't know for sure if I needed to disclose that, but I've seen others do it, so figured that I would as well. So, this has been a wonderful product for the price. As with a lot of things that claim to be universal, there are some tradeoffs. It has multiple joints and moving parts that are meant to accommodate various screen sizes and angles. Overall, this holder seems to do that well. But more points of movement means that there are more potential points to wear out. I've noticed a little bit of loosening from my original one, but nothing so far that would make me not completely trust it. The actual frame seems well constructed. It has attached securely to every mic stand that I have encountered, and I've never not been able to find a decent viewing angle.I'm giving this product five stars, would highly recommend it for those of you looking for a versatile tablet holder, and would purchase again. That said, I'll give you my few critiques:The actual arm ends (round parts) that contact the tablet could be a little bigger in order to accommodate thicker screens, or reasonably sized cases. The ones on there do flare out somewhat, but a little more flare wouldn't hurt. The only other issue has been that the it would be nice if the frame was extended out about half an inch to an inch further away from the mic stand. There have been a couple of times when, for whatever reason, the mic stand couldn't be extended very far, so the tablet would actually be bumped up against the mic adjustment handle (the metal rod that you tighten when adjusting the boom angle). That said, I realize that a longer extension would also make it less stable. And, the device is versatile enough that it has never been a major issue, just a minor annoyance.I'm just nitpicking at this point. Overall, it has been an awesome product at a reasonable price. I would highly recommend it to someone looking for a basic, but yet effective, universal tablet holder.

**UPDATE 2021: I ordered another one of these for a second tablet and was very, very pleased to see that they increased the depth of the pegs at the end of each leg for the larger brackets. I can now fit my iPad securely WITHOUT having to remove the cover. This is a BIG plus. The only potential downside is that if your device is too thin, it might not be quite as secure as it would have been on the shorter pegs (the smaller brackets included with this package still have the shorter pegs for thinner devices).--------------------Original Review January 2020:I've been using this for several months now and giving it a pretty good trial, constantly setting it up and taking it down each time I use it. I found this plenty sturdy for an iPad Air with a 10.1-inch display. I used one short arm and one long arm holding the top and bottom of the tablet. I will say that, as others have noted, the round wedge pieces at the end of the arms are not long enough to fit over my iPad and the case. But I've found it sturdy enough to just attach it to the case (not an Apple case) when folded behind the tablet. The bracket for clamping it to a stand is a fairly thick gauge metal for such an inexpensive product, and the size of the clamp allows it to fit onto a relatively large diameter tube (larger than any music stand or microphone stand I've ever used). While the clamp and bracket are heavier duty, the entire tablet holder assembly is less heavy duty plastic. It's more than enough for typical tablets (and I'd even feel safe putting a Windows Surface on it), but I wouldn't trust a heavier laptop on it, even though the long arms would likely allow a larger laptop to fit. In addition, the plastic screw knobs holding the arms and the knob which adjusts the tilt of the arm assembly are asking to be stripped if they're seriously over-tightened.Overall, I'm most impressed with the value. Given that other tablet holders are going for 2x-4x the price of this guy, from my experience, the value more than compensates for the few areas where it lacks the heavy-duty features of its most expensive counterparts. And so far it's proven at least equal in durability to other options that cost twice as much.

With a simple modification, by tapping the mounting bobbin center holes to a 1/4-20 thread (only a tap and tap wrench needed), this holder becomes a wonder of versatility. Using camera tripod adapters in the holes you can mount all sorts of stuff to the bracket arms. I have an older and a newer version of this mount. The old one has shorter bobbins and would not accommodate my iPad 12.9 while in its case. The new updated version has taller bobbins on the longer set of arms that will allow it to be securely held while still in its case.I am currently using my old one to hold a MacBook 13 to my music stand, and the newer one on a RAM mount with a magnetic base to hold an iPad 12.9. By tapping the bobbin holes I have been able to add supports to firm up the bracket for the computer, and to add a mounting plate for a magnetic LED light. I can see where this thing could also be used to mount microphones in various X-Y configurations, webcams, and lights, making it a pretty handy gizmo to have in an audio/video technician’s kit.As for mounting, most of the photos show it using the thumbscrew clamp on a microphone stand, but the head is also tapped with a 5/8-27 female thread that allows it to be screwed onto a mic stand directly, just as you would with a microphone clip. The thumbscrew clamp will attach to tubing of up to about 1-3/8” (36mm) in diameter. Again, its a really versatile design. As for sturdiness, it’s fairly rigid for being made out of plastic. The U-shaped channels hold their shape fairly well, even when holding my MacBook 13 with no additional support. It flexes a bit, but still feels secure. If they made an aluminum version of this mount I’d buy it in a heartbeat.

Can imagine the long hours this designer would have spent on designing and creating such an innovative, useful form every angle, pun intended product. Only a performer WOD know it's value.

Tiens très bien ma tablette. Seul hic, serait bon avoir caoutchouc plutôt que plastic pour tenir. Bon produit. Je l'aime beaucoup.
