There are ways to remove a quick link without a tool, but they are a hassle. If you've ever tried to remove one without a tool, you know they can be stubborn. Rather than hauling a large special built tool that you'd use in a home workshop, this Wolf Tooth tool is small, packs easily, is pretty light and holds replacement quick links (which is nice since the links are small and easily lost otherwise). Great design, sturdy and they do the job. What's not to like? No more worries about removing a quick link when out on a ride.

This is a fantastic tool for packing in your bike's tool bag. I have broken a couple of chains when riding (gravel and MTB), and this works well for being able to remove quick connect links. It's also great that you can carry spare links with you to repair a chain if needed.

After a rash of broken quick links I added this to my tool roll and it's saved my bacon a number of times since. It's light weight, sturdy and works exactly as advertised. Highly recommend that anyone who rides in remote areas or long distances carry one of these with them.

Now that I have a shiny new 11-speed drivetrain, I wanted to have a pair of chain pliers to take on my tours and bikepacking adventures that were lighter than my Park Tool pliers. These Wolf Tooth pliers came highly recommended online and in person, so I figured that for 35 bucks it was worth the chance.Well, I can report that they are absolutely worth the dollars. I *love* the fact that it holds two quick-links in the handles, and the magnetic closure is slick. I am pretty sure the pivot bolt is actually a chainring bolt as well, which is super cool, even if I am unsure if I can use it with my current configuration.Overall, I think it's great if you do longer rides where you may not have services to rely on, especially offroad where the risk of breaking a chain is far higher, and far more consequential in getting help to limp home. For me, this is a must have because I tour for a number of weeks and weekends through the year, so it feels like a solid buy. I only deducted one star from my rating because I feel like it would have been trivial and awesome to include a 10mm wrench cutout, or a screwdriver tool in the handle, but its really not a big deal and I have a proper multitool that has those tools (but no method to separate a quicklink or to store quick links!)

I'm a sucker for a well-built, lightweight tool that does exactly what you will need it to do. The irony is that I bought it, and hope that I never have to use it! But, as I work to better build out my bike repair kit, I knew that something similar to this was a necessary item. I entertained the idea of the model that came with all the bits, etc. but the reviews indicated that - although well-manufactured, the bits and the tool were hard to use. So I decided on a different multitool, and then this to complement it and I am glad I did. Well made and worth every penny - this will last a lifetime!

I've gone years without pliers of this sort and thought it was OK. Usually I could pinch the link apart within a matter of minutes and that's OK. Then in a remote-ish area this summer I had an issue where I had to remove the chain. I spent an hour trying to get the thing apart to no avail. Being in that situation makes the decision to get this easy.I chose these ones over the cheaper ones because of the nifty magnetic link storage, the multiple tools built into this one and that it's a quality item made in the USA.

They are super light weight and are the perfect EDC Pliers for rides. The link holders in the grip are great if you don't already have a stash somewhere for them. Knock on wood, have not had to use them yet on the trail, only used them once around the workshop.

Not sure I would use it as a tire lever on carbon rims, but it’s pretty sweet to have a master link tool when / if someone in your group breaks a chain

Very well designed and versatile tool. Build quality is good but not great. I'm very happy with this for keeping in my emergency trail kit, which is clearly what it's intended for. I would not recommend it for use in the home shop.

Metterò un feed realistico quanto avrò occasione di usarla in caso d emergenza, materiali ottimi, design fichissimo e pesa poco, un po caro ma come tutto bel mondo mtb

Superb bit of kit. A little costly but in fairness to Wolftooth you get what you pay for in terms of great design, usability, aesthetics, practicality and weight. I doubt you’ll get anything better and purely because of the low weight it’ll keep coming out with me on every ride.
