I just rewired my old truck. In the past, when I've done this, I've used the plastic sleeving that you can get at most parts stores. The plastic always looked cheap to me. I bought a Painless wiring harness and received a short sample of this in the package. I liked it and sought it out once it was time to cover the wiring. It really makes the project look professional, and it's a lot tougher than the plastic.INSTALLING ITAs I mentioned above, the brade is tough. It'll dull a pair of scissors immediately. I always got a clean cut with electrical diagonals. As for putting it on the wire? That can be a little daunting. It's hard to open fully (did I mention tough). I found two systems that worked well. When the wire is tight against a surface, I put a section of the sleeving wide open between the wires and the surface, and slide my thumbs down, opening the sleeve as I go. I push the wire in place with index fingers. Alternatively, if the wires are dangling, I put the sleeve around the wires at one end, and as I work I keep thumbs and fingers in the same relative place and slide the sleeve up the wire. That works pretty well, as well. It's rough and can be tough on the fingers, but the finished product makes it worth all the effort and even a bit of pain.As soon as I am finished writing this, I will be ordering more.

This stuff is amazing! While it's considerably more expensive than cheaper plastic cable sleeving, it's worth the price. I used this to clean up the wiring for all of the lights and other accessories in the engine bay of my Jeep. It went from looking like a complete mess, to looking like it was shipped that way from the factory. The sleeving is rugged, and hasn't show any signs of deterioration after several months of use. This is definitely my go-to when I'm trying to achieve that factory clean look.

Excellent quality but too small for my use. I wish they would provide more information about the inside and external wiring diagrams and even a picture to compare sizes. Nonetheless, very nice product.

I needed to run some new wires around the engine on my antique car and wanted to avoid any of the wires directly touching hot areas and I also did not like the multi colors of the wires. Putting the wires into the black braided sleeve provides some protection from heat while really looking nice and blending in with the engine compartment color wise. The braided sleeves were easy to cut with wire cutters.

Painless Powerbraid is a high quality wire sheathing. I used it to sheath all of the electrical wires in my Hot Rod project. It looks beautiful and keeps everything tidy. The added layer of protection against abrasion brings peace of mind as well. It is expensive, but if you want a professional look it is the way to go.

Must have for older car restoration. Split sleeve installs easy. Holds up to 4 wires 18 gauge about 5/16â€. Really makes your underhood look neat and it’s protecting your wiring. Looks correct for 50s and 60s period cars.
