A bulb at the top of the capillary tube is designed to probe or be attached to the top or hottest portion of the radiator. The adjustment knob may be used to set a precise temperature desired for fan activation. The mounting brackets are made of brushed stainless steel for good looks and durability. This complete kit includes the adjustable thermostat with bracket, a 40-amp relay, relay base with wiring (6' input, 3' output), a 30-amp circuit breaker for overall protection, wiring, terminals and mounting hardware. NOTE: Temperature refers to the temp of the capillary tube, not the coolant temp. Adjustable thermostat specifications: Temperature range in degrees - 32F to 248F. Accuracy in degrees - +/- 7. 3F.

Works like a charm. Wires are labled to what they need to be connected to. Only issue I had was that the switch is not labled for actual degrees. Was very easy to install a toggle switch to run into the cab of the XJ. All hardware is included and seems to be very durable.

I had an ECM failure on my Semi Tractor, 06 Volvo VNL 780 conventional sleeper.I needed a way to control the fan.This Controller with one pin change on the relay connector fit the bill. The controller assembly came with enough wire to reach up into the dash, back to the solenoid that turns fan on and off, and a long enough probe to reach the opposite side of the radiator where water returns from the Engine.I only needed wire loom to protect everything, this kit is complete and well thought out.The stainless steel bracket is a great added touch.

high quality part worth the high price.Others I tried did not last very long and were not as easy to adjust.

Installation was fairly easy with only minor soldering required. My only gripe is that the ground wire was extremely short due to the expectation of grounding it to its own housing. I used this on a C3 Corvette so this was not an option due to the fiberglass body of the car. Pretty easy to resolve but I think it is worth mentioning. Overall satisfied with the product however I used my own mounting hardware because I did not like the tiny self starting screws that were supplied.
