The Panavise model 312 base / tray is well designed and has a quality feel. I have owned a Panavise 300 for my electronics bench for more than 20 years. Added this base unit to provide stability. It has sufficient weight for most smaller projects and the base has a diameter of 8 inches. There are 3 tapped holes to mount the vise and the screws are included. The base is designed with convenient integral parts trays. The unit includes 6 self-adhesive rubber feet to prevent the base from slipping as well as tapped screw holes on the perimeter to add Panavise accessories. Nicely made unit!

It is heavy enough to keep the vise steady without having to attach the vise to my desk. It some storage trays for small objects I am working with.

I use this mount with the low profile base. It is well designed and very well made. I was worried until I tried it, that it wouldn't be the right mount, but it works great. It has rubber feet and stays put; and, it's completetly stable with no tendency to tip at all. The tray is very handy, and it's, also, light enough not to be cumbersome. I only wish I had gotten a Panavise years ago, because it's just what I needed.

Just to expensive for a base. It is made well, heavy good quality, but almost $22 for a vise base seems a bit much. It is only $8 less than the actual 201 vise and nothing mechanical. I was afraid it might be to big, but it is okay, the trays are nice and the stability is really great. The 201 does good without it though, so you really don't "need" this base.

Not a necessity but sure does compliment the PanaVise for a sturdy and stable base. I love the cast in small parts basins for keeping track of everything!!!

Perfect base for my panavise jr. It is heavy metal and well thought out. No slippage and The parts trays are a god-send. Repivots in a flash. This whole line : panavise 3xxx is superb and well worth the cost. I have this, as well as the full blown pv 350. It held on to a pair of hd555's while I soldered and reglued the headband. Having the board/jack/socket/ or whatever I'm working on pivoted into the perfect angle makes repairs incredibly easier.

Very stable and hefty base with convenient parts compartments that can support larger items that are offset substantially from the center of gravity. At eight inches in diameter it does however take up a fair bit of precious bench space compared to a clamp-on when you develop that inevitable clutter from projects. All in all, in my opinion, I'd say it was worth the investment.

Solid base for optional components. Allows portability for the PanaVise system.
