I used hold Mitsutoyo Micrometer by small vise (Spannfix vise for exact) so that my both hands are free butsometimes vise has been used and not available.I have 3 Dytex vises but I have no Panavise. Panavise and Dytex are not compatible vise in terms of accessory plus as far as I know Dytex vise did not offer this so I taped a screw at the bottom of the stem to make it Dytex compatible.

when combined w/ their swivel base any position is possible and positively retained. excellent quality, USA. set is consideraly less expensive than mic. mfgrs. plus base can be used w/ panavise's other heads.

I was searching for a micrometer holder to assist in measuring the neck wall thickness of brass cartridge cases when I happened upon this accessory for my Panavise. Absolutely perfect solution! It fits the Panavise base snugly and can then be adjusted to almost any position. Very cost effective alternative to a stand alone holder if you have a Panavise. If you don't, I still recommend buying the Panavise (or just the base) along with this micrometer holder. You won't regret it!
