Nice quality brushes, I did find a bristle that came out onto the food the first time I used it, but I think that is expected.

My husband is a baker, I'm a cook. We go through a lot of different pastry brushes. The best I've ever used is a paint brush from home depot, but... They're not really foodsafe, and again, husband is a baker, so can't get caught by the health department doing something so wreckless. So I "splurged" and bought an actual pastry brush, and I got a good one with bristles because those silicone, plastic P.O.Shart ones suck. Don't bother with that ish.And this thing, this works great. When it arrived, I soaked it, cleaned it-not a single hair comes out. I used it on a pie crust-Hair. Clean it, no hair. Pull at it (gently, I'm not trying to break it.) To get any loose hairs out, nothing. Husband gets to work: 12 loaves, six levain, two wheat, three soft white, one for us. Hairs. ON EVERY SINGLE ONE. Worst fkn joke of my life. He cleans it, we both do the testy thing humans do with paint brushes on your palm, no hairs. I don't know what's going on. It just dispenses one hair per loaf, and then stops. And it's not shoddy craftsmanship, it's a good brush. Evenly distributes washes, perfectly coats the glaze. It even holds up in caramel. But...it will drop a singular hair.I do really appreciate the plastic bit for water protection, when washing, that's nice. Because, you know...no mold.Anyway, I'm sure it'll stop shedding someday...or it'll shed to lameness, and then I'll buy another one-because I do like it-or go back to home depot.

Nice size and there's no metal band around the bristles to corrode.

Looks just like the picture. I like that it has a string for an option to hang it up. Good for what I need it for; egg wash.

I used this brush to brush the sides of a pot while making toffee. A big chunk of something brown (perhaps adhesive) came out and fell into my hot toffee ruining the batch. A bristle ( maybe more) also fell out. This was after about 8 uses. This brush might be okay for non high heat jobs but I think the high heat had a very bad effect on this brush. I'm going to have to look to other sources for a very high quality heat resistant brush I need for toffee making. This is not the one.

I use them for basting all kinds of stuff - then soak them in soapy water and they haven't shed after 6 months.

The bristles soak up the oil nicely and brush on smoothly. I use this to oil my waffle maker instead of spraying it on. I also brush egg mixture on my challah. I appreciate the loop allowing me to hang it from my cabinet for easy access and drying— plus it won’t get lost in a drawer with my other utensils!!!

I received two pastry brushes but they were both, sadly, purple. I was hoping for both pink and purple which was what was advertised. I'm too lazy to go through the return process especially since the order required import fees for me to purchase. Will keep them for now. The purple one looks exactly like the picture at least. Super cute! Excited to try them out.
