Didn't come with center bar, definitely lacks support without it.

The stretcher bars were easy to assemble. I used them to stretch a decorative dish towel to hang.

I got the 16x16 inch stretcher bars. Unfortunately, they were improperly cut. One side didn’t slide in easily, so I used a hammer to fit into the space. Although the hammer made it possible for me to put the bars together, I then saw that the one that didn’t fit was also cut improperly. As a result, that corner is not flat. It is higher once you get it in place, making the frame unusable.Even before trying to put the pieces together, I was put off by all of the splintering wood. I figured I could cover this problem with my canvas, but this is a non-issue now that I’ve seen that the bars are not flat all the way round.The seller does provide an array of hardware.
