Advantage

I had a office chair that kept sliding down. As a fix, I simply added one of these collars. Now my chair stays put. It's no longer adjustable, but I don't care about that.

My office chairs hydraulic cylinder would not hold height. I put a collar on it the height that I like and saved from buying two cylinders . Fixed both chairs in my office way cheaper.
