I wanted an alternative to a rim shot when playing. This wood block has a nice sound. The only trouble is I’m limited to what I can attach it to, the hole is rather small on the clamp.

I got it because it looked cool and sounded good on youtube demo videos. It is inconsistent. Sometimes obnoxiously higher pitched than it is suppose to be. Sometimes no tone at all despite hitting in the sweet spot or anywhere on the block with any part of the drum stick for that matter. I was planning on adding this pearl wooden block and an lp jam block medium to my drum kit. I thought the wood would have a unique tone. I would never get a pearl wood block again. Maybe humidity and temperature sensitive?

nice sound and i think it will last forever I use it on a gadget bracket while playing guitar and it helps keep the beat. only gave it four stars because I think the mounting bracket could be better. but it works and is solid. I think it was worth the money

Wow !!, I just received it a moment ago (only two days after confirming the order) and incorporated in the percussion part of my drum kit. Just beautiful !! not only the outlook but the sound, it's very beautiful. either if you play it with your hand or the dstick, it responds with a great wooden full-rich-sound.i hope it helps !
