Our Great Granddaughter was born prematurely at 1 1/2 pounds. She was released from NICU at 4 1/2 months of age. She was constantly being sent back to the hospital because of gagging, retching and throwing up to the point of screaming. This formula was advised for her at the age of one year. She has had no further problems since on this formula for the past two months! Praise the Lord!

I used this product because my sons doctor recommended it. He's not eating food at all so this was the only way he could get the nutrients he needed.

So apparently you can’t get a refund for this rather expensive and important part of feeding your child, so I wanted to leave a review. My shipment has some normal bottles but I just opened 3 in a row with CHUNKS in it. My son has been using this formula for over a year and I’ve never experienced this. With all the recalls out there I want to be extra careful. Check your bottles and make sure they aren’t spoiled.

At nearly five bucks a bottle, this is a pricy drink. But Pediasure's Peptide is intended to address a specialized problem, namely children ages 1-13 with gastrointestinal issues. It is gentle on the digestive system with the protein partially broken down and prebiotics present. For severe cases, it can be used as a sole source of nutrition, but it is probably best as a supplemental meal or snack.I'm fortunate that no one in my home has such issues. Based on my observations alone, I feel I can recommend Peptide. It has a pleasant creamy vanilla flavor and is soothing on the palate. It has no real aftertaste but it is reminiscent of other mass-market meal shakes. When drunk on an empty stomach, there is no upset or discomfort. The lactose-free and non-GMO ingredient list is comprehensive and it looks like it would be an acceptable meal replacement if the situation called for it. Obviously it is highly processed and consuming natural whole foods is ideal, but sometimes situations don't allow for that and that's where Peptide could be a lifesaver.~ Kort

My kid has been seeing a pediatric GI for about a year now. He's on miralax once a day to keep him going and a pediasure a day to keep weight on him because he's such a picky eater. This does seem to be a little easier on his belly and I love the probiotics in it (I had been doing a probiotic powder in a danimals, which is full of sugar, so not ideal). This is the same calories as the regular pediasure (the 1.5 cal is double the calories).Tastes the same as his regular pediasure vanilla flavor and same thickness (1.5 cal is a little thicker).I would love to continue him on this version, but it's INSANELY expensive. I hope those that need it for a feeding tube can get it covered by insurance because this is a crazy amount of money. Our kid gets one of these a day with his miralax mixed in (he can only have 9oz of dairy a day and this is 8oz, so pretty much covers his dairy allotment for a day).
