The mezuzah cover screws open on bottom for insertion of the parchment, and is attached to the doorpost by two sided adhesive tape which comes with the mezuzah case.

Looks great on my doorpost, understated and smart. The double sided tape attached on the back seems sturdy and lasting indoors (can't speak one way or the other for its durability in an outdoor condition, exposed to weather).Exactly what I wanted.

I was pleasantly surprised on arrival - in addition to the sticky strip on the back, there are also included two properly sized nails. The case is simple but attractive. In order to open it, you have to use a flat head screwdriver to unscrew the plug and, if you wish to nail it in, then when you re-screw the plug, make sure to line up the hole in the plug with that of the case.

The mezuzah batim came right away, just as they were shown and described on the site. My local store had either plastic batim which I did not like, or ridiculously priced ones, which I could not afford especially after buying large klaf for reach of several doorways. These are much nicer than plastic and a good size, and the service was excellent.

I didn't realize that the mezuzah was shipped without the scroll. I've already hung it with the tape. Why would you ship it without the scroll? Who buys just the case anyway ? Otherwise it is just the right size for the doorpost and the sticky tape makes it easy to hang. But now I have to take it down and dispose of it somehow.

I like the fact that traditionally, I would imagine that most household mezuzahs were simple instead of ornate. Simplicity offers it’s own beauty. The wood work is tastefully done with attention to detail. The scroll is easily placed within it.

This is a present for my son as he moves to his new home so I have no idea how well the wooden mezuzah will hold up, but it is lovely, and just what he wanted. I will try to remember to update my review after it has been up for a year or so:)

The piece is just like in the picture. It is nice, but the screw in the bottom is in plastic and could be in metal. It would give it a nicer, more slick touch.
