If you have pegboard hooks with no "keepers" on them, you know the frustration of the hook coming off the pegboard with the tool and falling (sometimes behind a bench or tool box). These "keepers" easily snap into the standard pegboard holes (1"x1" centers) each side of the hook and hold it securely in place. There are other "make-do" solutions usually involving bending paperclips or wire from the back side of the pegboard if you have access, but these clips are a better looking solution and are well worth the few pennies they cost to me. They quickly pop in easily from the front, are quite sturdy inserting and removing - I have yet to break any. 5-Stars for me.

First, let me say, these are WAY better than the cheaper skinny ones being offered. I had those, and they would not work, even on the 1/8" hooks. And, these can be removed by just putting a small screwdriver (the straight edge kind) against one side of the installed lock and forcing away from its locking position. If you are wondering about the quality, don't fret, these are the good ones. And, if you are just starting with pegboard, buy the 200 count offering. I bought the 50 count and will soon need more. It's worth the couple of dollars more in the long run. Hope this helps. I am happy with my purchase.

I've installed pegboard hook locks before when they came in the same package as the hooks. Those weren't as difficult to install as these. These are quite difficult to install, and I even broke one of them trying to get one end into a hole. They are quite a tight fit. However, I found that it got easier to install them the more I did it. They are so tight that the hooks are held very securely. Time will tell if being stretched, as they are, will cause them to break easily with use. The plastic is fairly stiff. Once in, they would probably be difficult, if not impossible, to remove, so make sure to consider carefully where you put your hooks. My guess is you'd have to cut these hook locks to remove them.

These pegboard hook locks really work great. They keep my pegboard hooks in place so they never fall out. Good quality as well.

I purchased a nice variety of pegboard hooks, but the hook locks that came with them were hard to use and didn't seem to work well, so I got these (an earlier purchase came with these plastic ones). They worked SO much better. I'm pleased to give them five stars.

I have a garage that is lined with pegboard and I love it. But SOME of the hooks have a habit of pulling out (halfway, or altogether) when you remove the tool. This is especially the case for really large or heavy tools, such as shovels, large clamps, and the like. So while I was happy to find these clips, I quickly became somewhat disappointed with their performance. In brief, they are really difficult to install and they break all-too-easily.These clips are almost impossible to push into place with bare fingers. They’re also hard to install by tapping them with a hammer. Or using pliers. In all these cases, they often break. My eventual solution was to use a wooden dowel to push them into place, and I later made a dowel (recycled broomstick, see photo) with a slot to keep the clip steady while I pushed it into the hole in the pegboard. Even then, I repeatedly had clips breaking — even when pushed into place with a dowel. Sometimes the barb deformed; sometimes the barb broke off; and sometimes the clip broke in the exact middle! On balance, the first 13 clips I installed were accompanied by 6 that broke. I was glad I ordered the pack of 200, many more than I needed, because I expect that a pack of 200 will resolve to maybe 133 usable clips — and I have a hunch that many of my “successful†installs already are cracked where the barb takes off at a right angle.The 200-pack is a good deal, only $0.05 per clip. With breakage estimated at 1 in 3, that’s still less than $0.08 each. I’m okay with that, but it remains to say that these clips will try your patience. I also agree with another reviewer that you'll be better off removing these clips with a wire cutter and replacing them with fresh ones, because the barbs erode the masonite pegboard even as they are going in and much more so if you pull them out.

These plastic hook retainers are a bit bigger (fatter) than the ones I have found a the box stores. As such, they are slightly more difficult to get into the peg board holes, but they are WAY stronger than the box store retainers that were ALWAYS breaking and coming loose on me. I can say I have no issues, I RECOMMEND!

These are great. They keep the hooks in place until you remove them. Perfect if you have a problem with the hooks falling out when you pick up the hanging item.
