I bought the Pelican box to transport a full-case desktop computer for work which weighs ~55lbs (19 x 18.5 x 9 inches) (48.26 x 46.99 x 22.86 cm). Cutting the foam to fit was very simple. The wheels roll well but they are hard plastic (as opposed to rollerblade type) and make ALOT of noise rolling down tiled hallways. Some of the people I work with have mentioned the noise. There are large carry handles on both sides which makes it very easy for two people to pick it up. It's big enough that two people can sit on it (back to back) which isn't really something I considered when I was looking but is actually pretty useful. If I need to leave it somewhere there are a couple of points to lock it up and I can use a cable to secure it to something. Basically it's a big tough box and protects something I can't afford to lose. So far it's done that job well.

The Pelican 1640 case is the perfect size for my Brompton M3L. I had previously purchased the B&W International Bike Case, which fell apart after a few overseas trips. The corners were easily smashed and, in some parts, severely torn. I tried mending the B&W with some molding glue. No luck. You can really feel the difference in construction between these cases. The Pelican is incredibly sturdy. I really should have bought this case first. The *only* down side to the case is its weight: At 33 pounds, this case will take your package over the 50 pound weight limit. My bike weighs 27 pounds.

Filled with foam that can be cut to spec. Very sturdy, cant beat. The only drawback is that the case itself is very heavy so be ready to pay extra at the ticketing counter.

This is extremely heavy on it's own. there's a reason Pelican are the go-to company for transporting valuable/delicate equipment. The only one (minor) issue is the foam it comes with is 95% pre-cut and you may find small squares accidently ripping off.

It's tough to find something negative to say about pelican cases - there's a reason why they are the industry standard.I use this case to protect one of my audio mixers, a Behringer X32 Producer; it fits the mixer perfectly with foam to spare on both sides. The case is still light enough to be carried and lifted by myself, and you can't beat the protection and toughness that a Pelican Case offers you.I have personally tested the water-tightness of the case (not by choice...); I was awaiting a truck to come pick up some gear, including this case with my X32 mixer, and I stepped out to use the restroom - on that instant, as typical in Florida, a flash thunderstorm struck, and everything got rained on pretty heavily. My mixer was still intact - the case protected it perfectly.Highly recommended!

I use this for my Audio console because Pelican is a great brand.I know my board will be safe while traveling.

This is a hefty case and will add costs during shipping, but if you have electronic or other items that you absolutely want to be sure is safe I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend. It comes with high quality foam padding that has precut divisions that you can simply tear to custom fit your item(s) (1/2†increments I think, haven’t measured).

I purchased this case as a safe place to store one of my tube amplifiers when not in use. The amp weighs 66 pounds and the original box/wood crate are ugly and beat up after being shipped overseas. The pullout foam is AWESOME, if you take your time and do it right. I used a sharpie to trace the outline of the amplifier and then went to work. This is what the manufacturer should have provided for the unit in the first place.If you have something of value and you want a tough secure nice looking place to store it when not in use, this is the case to own. Worth every peeny. I am buying two more for my other tube amps.

Bought this case for my full tower. Really big and sturdy as advertised. 10/10 would recommend if you need to travel with something fragile.

This is an extremely rugged shipping. The pick and pluck foam interior allows quick adapting to equipment shape while maintaining the protection for all equipment parts.
