Your cart is empty.Pentair Pentek RFC Series Cartridges are constructed with a 70-micron porous polyethylene outer shell and durable polypropylene endcaps. The 2-3⁄4" outer diameter cartridges have a polypropylene core and the 4-1⁄2" outer diameter cartridges incorporate a spun polypropylene core. Sandwiched between the outer shell and the core is a bed of granular activated carbon (GAC). The unique radial flow design offers the benefits of granular activated carbon (GAC) filtration, such as low pressure drop, while at the same time significantly reducing the release of carbon fines commonly associated with GAC-style cartridges. Pentek RFC Series Cartridges are available in a wide variety of sizes and are ideal for point-of-entry (POE) and other high flow rate applications.

I have a hard iron well, this filter is in place before the softener and it works very well. I change my filter every 4 months. When I swap again I'll update with pictures but this filter does what it is supposed to with very little to no water restriction. Pentair has another similar charcoal filter GAC blue solid body and the water restriction is horrible. This filter works very well. Definitely recommend!No smell, no color.This can also be used in a singular or in line filter system with no water restriction.

I have a well with more iron then I want. I have a water softener and uv filter in line with this. I started out with the pleated type of filter and within a week my water smelled pretty bad, kind of like cat pee. Was not nice taking a shower, I gotta tell you. My well company suggested this one, and for the most part it is working for me fairly well. I've got almost 2 weeks of usage out of it and most days the water does not smell, much, maybe a little like dirt, but very faint. The taste is great and the results, I can live with. I will see how it works over time, but I would expect that in most situations this is a great filter.

I contacted the Pentair company regarding a replacement filter. Verifying what I had installed by my water quality supplier, this filter was less expensive by about 50% and worked. I will be reordering.

This is a quality product and doesn’t leave any carbon residue within the big blue filter housing. Also, great in not impeding the water flow rate into the home.
