It has a nominal filtration rating of 5 microns at an efficiency of 85%. The filter is made of fibrillated polypropylene fiber cord to minimize extractable compounds from the media, and the cord is wound on a rigid polypropylene core for strength. It has an initial pressure drop of 16 pounds per square inch (psi) at a maximum flow rate of 10 gallons per minute (gpm), and operates over a temperature range of 40 to 165 degrees F (4.4 to 74 degrees C). This string-wound polypropylene filter cartridge is for use in various applications, including drinking water purification, irrigation, and industrial processes, among others. The nominal filtration rating is for a particle removal efficiency of 85%.

Thankful I was able to find and order this filter. Our local Home Depot no longer carries them, nor does our Lowes. These filters are good quality and are exactly what we need. I now have the subscription.

I have installed this as a pre-filter to my softner. I took one out and let it dry. Gained about 8 pounds. This means it captured 8 pounds of s#$% that was in my water. The real reason for writing the review is that I had to disconnect my filter while doing some plumbing work and it was almost unbarable. Note: We are on well that is heavy in iron.

My house water comes from a deep well and all of my drinking water passes through this filter. This type of filter has been used for several years and is most effective. I normally replace it between 6 and 8 weeks use and this is dependent on the volume of water I use.It is a well priced item.
