I mean graphite.. Thought penicl lead was really made of lead til recently lol.0.7 is perfect for classes. 0.5 tends to break easily and doesn't mark enough. 0.9 is just too thick,Better price than going in-store to StapIes etc.

This works just like pencil lead should, fits precisely in my mechanical pencil and write smoothly. I do wish it was a little bit darker, however.
