I got this to use for outdoor movies in the summer. I place my projector on it and use a HUGE screen. I’ve used a table in the past, but it was always difficult to get it at just the right height (Adding books under it, etc…). With this, that’s no longer an issue! The pivot points hold in place very well and it easily supports the weight of my projector.

First off, I do like the variety of uses for this device. (Music stand seems overkill, but to each his/her own.) I needed something for a presentation with a projector, but ended up needing something a tad taller. But I did notice that at full height, this unit is very tippy. I would recommend putting the 3rd leg at the back of the unit so if it does tip, it will lean towards you. I have the feet out as far as they extend, mind you. I should note that this is at a 'standing height' for most people, depending on your actual height. (I am average in height for the record.)The thumb screws cover (plastic) feel a bit cheap, but should hold up as you shouldn't need to 'wrench' on them. The bolts/screws look to do a decent job so far. At a sitting height, this gets much more reliable - so if you're looking for something near your desk for a second computer, mixer, or a place to take notes (not as desirable) then this works even better for that. The variety of height options is nice, and being able to tilt the top for 'just the right angle' is also nice. If you need something tall and able to withstand bumping (but that will require a larger footprint) then you might need to look elsewhere. If you have, like say, photo sandbags that will hold the unit down, then that would help eliminate that tipping issue - or strap it down if you can. The taller you get, the less weight on top will help as well.

The concept of this stand is really great. However, the actual stand leaves something to be desired. It is really not as sturdy or stable as I had hoped. It will work for signage, but I wouldn't want to use it for a laptop or projector stand in an active environment. I went ahead and purchased a second one, as I intend to use them to hold directional signage.

Screw is stripped. Spent 2+ hours trying to resolve this. No way to attach the flat base to the stand. Poor quality control. Called customer support but no one picked up.

I work in a very confined space and needed a platform that my laptop could sit upon that also reached high enough to be usable over my keyboards. This item checked those boxes. The assembly was easy and the height adjusts to a decent height. You get a pin to help keep the height where you want it.The frame feels a bit flimsier than what you would want but is strong enough to successfully accomplish its purpose. Basically, you could bend or dent the stand with some force applied to it.The legs are short, plain and simple, so you will not get an incredible amount of balance. The lower the height, the more stable the stand is, but as you increase in height, the balance becomes quite unstable. This does come with ground stakes that you can insert through the legs to give a huge boost in stability, but obviously this is only helpful outdoors, not indoors.Basically, indoors, you would NOT want this placed in any area that would have traffic or a bumping hazard as it, and its contents, WILL fall over. However, I have this placed in such a way that the tipping hazard is eliminated making this product EXACTLY what I needed.Make sure you weigh the risks on your intended usage before purchasing as specific usages will be better accommodated than others. This is perfect for my needs, but may not be perfect for everyone.
