When I was in the hospital for a couple of weeks. One of my friends did this activity kit for me. I love Tigers. Even the entire staff who got to see it enjoyed seeing the daily project improve from time to time. I love the colors for the Tigers the company chose. I Hope they one day will make more options to do for this craft.

I bought this off the perler website and I enjoyed the portability of this product (I was able to work on it in the car while waiting for my daughter), which is not something you can do with peg boards, but it did not have enough of certain colors. I was able to improvise but it was still disappointing.

I didn't buy this kit on Amazon but it's the same kit wherever it is sold. I have used (and enjoy using) the Perler midi and mini beads but lately I've been enjoying square drills diamond paintings so this kit intrigued me. It has square beads about the same size as the round midi beads. It came with extra beads of all the colors but as Peeler doesn't sell the Snappix mats separately I'm not sure what I'll do with the extras. I found that my fingers ended up strangely sticky after manipulating the beads into the canvas, sticky enough that cat hair stuck to my fingers when I moved my cat away from my work area. Soap and water restored my fingers to normal. I like the overall picture but Perler has so few designs in this that I'm not sure I'll bother with another Snappix kit. I'm considerably older than 12 but I do think younger nimble fingers would have an easier time of it. The beads come mixed together in a bag. I found it easier to sort them with a muffin tin while I worked on this. The mat did stretch out a bit by the time I finished but perhaps it will return to a more flat state overnight. I finished it in three hours spread out over two days. The finished product can be viewed from two directions so I intend to hang it in my front porch window for the summer. I think this would make a good gift for a young teen that has done Perler style bead projects before. No iron needed for these. Tweezers make sorting the beads easier. Clear fishing line threaded through the each row of beads when done to prevent the beads from coming off the mats to prevent the beads from ending up in the bellies of pets, ears or throats of children or anywhere else they shouldn't be.

This product did not come with all the beads you need to complete the project. It also didn’t completely left out a color of bead needed. I couldn’t finish it.
