History
Legends dating back to the early 1800s say that Saint Bernard rescue dogs (belonging to Monks) would carry small kegs on their collars when they went off to rescue lost travelers high in the Swiss Alps near the border between Italy and Switzerland. The booze inside, such as whisky, rum or brandy, would help to rejuvenate the weak and weary travelers for their journey home.

When I ordered this product, I halfway expected a poor quality rickety barrel to arrive. However, the barrel arrived quickly and in good shape with a nice leather strap that goes around my dog’s neck. The barrel is well-made, with hardy wood and no splinters. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants to put a whiskey barrel around their dogs neck lol…, !!!

I purchased this barrel as an urn for my St Bernard mix who recently passed. It is a very well made barrel and I love that I was able to have his name and dates personalized on the barrel. It shipped and arrived in a timely manner, especially for a custom item. The company provides great communication and instructions with the barrel if you are going to use it for aging spirits. I am very happy with my purchase and it will make a beautiful remembrance for my pup.(if anyone else is looking to use this barrel in a similar way, were were able to fit all but a very small amount of his ashes in the barrel, he was about 130lbs) (I would also recommend purchasing a "stand" for the barrel as it tends to roll, i will be contacting the company to see if they sell these)

This is authentic… you can really put booze in there, and it comes with instructions how to sanitize and use.Because of its authenticity, it’s heavier than expected, and even our black lab wasn’t too interested in wearing it.

Cute as a decoration but I won’t put anything in it again. We put water in it with the tablet to clean it until we were ready to use it and it leaked all over what it was sitting on through the bottom of the barrel.

I originally bought these for Halloween costumes for our two Bernese Mountain dogs, but we absolutely loved the look so I use them for our Christmas photos as well! Excellent quality, I did find that the leather strap was a bit too long and made the barrel hanging too low, but we simply added a hole to shorten it up…

just as expected love this and I am waiting to use because I think once ya use this item it has to be kept all the time with fluid inside it. fits my girl well but she is afraid of it LOL
