After i got the distributor i realized that it comes with a "hardened distributor gear" not a Melonized gear which is what the cam manufacturer recomends to use on a hydraulic flat tappet cast iron cam core. I had to buy a new gear from Howards for another 70 bucks Pertronix doesnt even offer a Melonized or cast iron gear. I called Pertronix tech help line and talked to a dude that didnt know shyte cams or gears. I am Very dissapointed that this wasnt disclosed before i bought the distributor.

No fuss installation, Standard RPM limit is fine for my application. (390FE) Should have got one of these a long time ago instead of fighting with a NEVERLITE.

The rotor contacts the cap due to sloppy tolerances, cap moves almost a 1/4 inch, not even close to centric. I have to move around the cap little by little with the truck running to center it, otherwise u get this ticking sound from the rotor smacking into the cap. It works, but had I known this was going to be such a pile I would have just kept my points dizzy and saved the money

Great product. Very high quality construction, easy to install, works very well. Did everything manufacturer claimed.Really liked the built in rpm limit control.
