I'm a painting newbie so I don't want to spend a fortune on canvases, but I also don't want to paint on canvases that are so cheap they feel like burlap. These canvases seem to be a good balance of price vs quality. They're primed, but I still used three coats of gesso as is recommended for unprimed canvases. This gives me a lovely surface while still preserving the texture of the canvas. They take paint well. These are comparable to the student-level canvases at Michael's for a lot less.

These canvases are excellent. They're stretched well and held securely. The dimensions are accurate. The canvas doesn't have bleed issues or weak spots. They were absolutely perfect for our needs, especially at this price.

PHOENIX Stretched Canvases Multi Pack (4x4, 5x7, 8x10, 9x12, 11x14 Inch (2 of Each), 5/8 Inch Profile, 100% Cotton, Triple Primed White, Brand: the PHOENIX Store)- No damage noted. Sizing is correct Canvas is stretched and appears to be primed white as expected. I am a novice. These are for all appearances and after using - are good quality canvases for artwork. Yes, I'd recommend.

I was happy to see these canvases finally arrive. The stretcher frames are very sturdy, probably the best feature about these! I don't believe that the canvas is 8 oz gesso. But that's just me. I've had 8 oz gesso canvases and these seem to have too much thread exposed, too heavily textured to be 8 oz gesso. When I have an 8 oz gesso canvas I expect it to be very smooth with almost no texture visible. But maybe that's due to different standards for different countries? I'm not sure of the reason for that variance. I can still do something beautiful with these canvases, something I'll be happy to look at for many years. I'm thinking maybe birds or tropical birds, I love to paint those. I don't see the point of buying canvases for children to do their art experiments with. Give them a sheet of typing paper ( printer paper) or construction paper, and they'll be good to go, and just as happy.2 tips- 1. Always always always attach your hanging hardware to the back before you even begin thinking about painting! And always lay the canvas down on your workbench on top of a clean towel or sheet or something of that nature so you don't contaminate the canvas before you've even begun. 2. A nice, and very easy way to finish the edges of these canvases mounted on stretcher frames, after you have finished your project, is to use black electrical tape in the same width as the edge of the frame. Start at the bottom of the canvas and run it all the way around being very careful not to run it up over the top edge of the frame. Smooth it very tightly as you go and finish it off at the bottom to meet up with your starting point. The perfect way for this finish is to start at the right of the bottom middle, And end at the left of the bottom middle, a couple of inches in each direction. Then measure to find the exact middle and carefully cut that point through the two layers of tape (using a craft knife), be careful that you don't cut the canvas beneath. This way you'll have a perfect seam after you remove the excess that is right of the middle and left of the middle before you made the cut. This prevents an obvious bulge at the bottom of the frame. Because remember, the eye is always drawn first to the imperfect, to the unlevel, to the bulge, anything off kilter. Or you can paint that same edge with about three coats of gloss black enamel. The problem with that is it's very difficult to not end up with black paint on the front of the canvas. im jus sayin...

I will order these again. My kids and I love acrylic painting on canvas to display and decorate our walls. Quality met my expectations. Ready for painting, tight, clean corners, lightweight, and easy to hang. Great value compared to craft stores.

These are very good quality canvases. They do not soak up too much paint. The are stretched over the frame well.

A nice set of 2 large canvases - I liked these because i didn’t need to gesso them before using acrylics on them. A good value for the price.
