Original item had a broken table mount that the flex arm goes into. Sent a one star review because the unit was useless. This was two days ago.With out asking. A new replacement arrived today.The item may have some quality issues,but the company is frustrate. Thank you Photomyne.

It is sturdy enough that once adjusted with my cell phone in place, it stays put. That is what I needed so I could take decent close up pictures of small rocks and minerals. This contraption does the job for my Pixel 7 phone in a case! It barely fits in the clamp, but it does! That was my main concern. My pictures are in much better focus now due to the stability of this set up.

The three main components are the base, swing arm, and phone cradle, which are all suitably well made, and about what you’d expect for the price. The challenge, however, is that that they don’t fit together well enough to provide a truly stable platform for photos. For example, the rod at the bottom of the arm swing arm that inserts into the base doesn’t fit snugly enough. There’s just enough variance that no matter how tight the base is attached to a table, the arm rocks ever so slightly when touched, and can rotate without much force. Basically, you try to take a photo and the rig moves. The base itself requires shims to protect the surface it’s attached to in order to provide stability. And when the full thing is assembled for usage, its hard to leverage even with adjustments, and the pressure of your finger on the scan button is enough to through the alignment out of wack. Basically, it’s not saving me much time. And if you try to use it with the light box, you can’t see your phone screen well enough to ensure you’ve got all your photos in view. It basically does as advertised but it’s not worth the effort in my opinion. I’m still look for other options.

After downloading the app, I followed the link within it to order this phone holder to take steadier scans. got it fairly quickly, but unfortunately, the thread on the screw for the phone holder didn’t match the support arm. it was impossible to tighten the holder under the arm. It kept slipping off because the threads wouldn’t connect. I sent the item back, and after a couple of messages from the customer service people they sent me a new unit that was perfect to the relatively low price point this is an excellent solution. If you plan to scan a high number of photographs, slides, documents using the app. It holds things completely still, so you can voice activate scanning through the app’s functionality. The arm is very stiff and firm and introduces no wobble that the app has to compensate for. I really like the app, and was disappointed that the first unit didn’t work out, but they were able to rectify the situation and enable me to give this a five star review. I order a lot from Amazon, and frankly anyone can make a mistake. I wouldn’t let that count against them in my review, I wanted to mention it in case this is not a one-in-a-thousand type problem.
