I was not looking for a diffuse lite prisms. I have no idea why they did this. The lighting system works satisfactorily, but with frosted prisms, it will not provide the effects you would be looking for.

While this optical demonstrator is a neat device, mine arrived with one of the 3 lasers non-functional. It wasn't worth sending it back, so I bought another one from another manufacturer that does work. But, the lasers in this one are way out of alignment and not adjustable.

Well, this is how it came out of the box! Chipped switches with wires exposed. Great disappointment since I was looking forward to using this as a teaching tool with my Grandson. ☹ï¸

There's nothing like hands-on learning when it comes to physics.This little kit demonstrates the behavior of light through various lens shapes.From some of the pictures, I was thinking the lenses might be too small relative to the light emitter, but I was pleasantly surprised to find them large enough, such that when the light emitter beams are adjusted in parallel, the lenses will capture the behavior of all three beams simultaneously.The lenses have a polished side and a dull finished side.It's good to store them with the dull finished sides facing up in the plastic tray so when you slide them in the box, the polished sides don't get scratched up.When experimenting with the device, it is better to have the polished sides of the lenses facing up so you can see the beams passing through the material clearly, while the dull finished sides obscure the surface you have them laying on so that whatever is under the lenses is not distracting from the experiment.The rocker switches are of a good quality. The battery compartment is unrefined, but gets the job done.Each of the emitters produces a tall narrow band of bright red light.These experiments can be revisited as one progresses through different levels of physics.I would recommend removing the batteries when the device is in storage to prevent the battery compartment from damage due to potential battery leakage, as batteries sitting in an unused device are prone to do.

This is a simple and affordable experiment kit, good for homeschooling. Works as expected and comes with 6 prisms.
