Piñon is an evergreen tree that grows along the foothills of California's desert mountains, east to Arizona, New Mexico and Texas, and north to Wyoming. This tree produces a cone that bears edible seeds harvested in the late fall. When burned, the smoke is a soft smell of the Piñon that fills the air in towns and villages throughout New Mexico.

Do you cut down trees to make your product?
No, we use trees that are already dead. We do not cut down living trees, we utilize their wood once they have completed their natural life cycle.
What does the Incense Smell Like?
Think of our incense as miniature pieces of firewood. Each fragrance is perfect for the urban dweller whose heart longs for the outdoors, and the outdoors man who would like to bring the campfire indoors. So what does natural wood incense smell like? Mostly people tell us that our incense reminds them of the past… family camping trips and s’mores by the fire, bonfires on the beach, Christmas Eve listening to your Abuela’s stories. For others the fragrance is the scent of calm and peace.
How do I Light an Incense Brick?
Our bricks are larger than most incense cones, making them a bit harder to light. The upside to this is that they burn longer and produce more incense. Hold the brick over a flame until the brick burns by itself. This will cause the brick to expand at the burning end. After the brick has stopped flaming, gently blow on the burning ember. Place the brick in the center of the censer (or incense burner), unlit end down. If the brick should fall over or is laid on its side, the flame may go out.
What is the Incense used for?
Many use our incense for meditation, yoga and relaxation. Some have a more practical purpose and use it to cleanse their house from unpleasant pet odors and skunk spray. We hope that you find what you are looking for and we invite you to try one or all of our seven fragrances.

These are the real deal! The scent is rich and warm. I first saw these for sale in a shop in Albuquerque, NM and just had to order more from Amazon. It reminds me of sitting around a campfire. Unlike synthetic incense, this has an authentic woodsy aroma that feels natural and calming.The bricks are sturdy and well-made and they burn for a pretty long amount of time. They burn down cleanly without leaving a mess, just a little ash. The included holder is a nice touch, making it easy to enjoy them right out of the box.If you love the smell of real wood incense and want something high-quality that is made in the USA, this is a perfect choice. The smell of this pinon incense reminds me so much of the incense my mother always stocked up on during childhood trips to West Texas and New Mexico. The bricks she purchased then seemed to be a bit larger than the ones now but the fragrance is the same....no chemical smell just a lovely pinon wood fire. I always lightly blow on the brick afterr lighting to distribute the ember and they burn evenly all the way down. What a clean, outdoorsy, fragrance to have in the house.

Great scent, no problem lighting with stick lighter. One downside, they burn quick like not packed tight, holds together well and scent hangs out in room.

A buddy of mine had given these to me many years ago. He actually lives in the southwest. I found them in a drawer a few months back and loved them! But...I eventually ran out. The box is exactly the same as he got me back when. The scent is the same too. The only difference being the burn time on the new ones may be a little shorter.

We live east of the Mississippi now, but for many years, we lived in the Rocky Mountain west. I was really missing the smell of pinion burning, so I thought I would try these incense bricks. They are absolutely fantastic! A smoky, authentic pinion smell, but not too much smoke to set off fire alarms. Each brick lasts about 30 minutes or so. I put mine by the intake to the furnace and let it spread throughout the house.

Ordered a box of pinion incense. It was advertised with a holder, all pictures have a holder, the side of the box has directions to place in the holder. When mine arrived it had no holder. I contacted the company, they said the holder only comes with a box of 100. This was not the case on all their advertisement, but employee told me they changed the website, but didn't offer to send a holder??As other reviews have stated, the quality of these has gone way done in the past few years. Smells mostly of smoke, little pinion smell, burns out in 5 minutes and very smoking. If you are looking for a incense, that offers a light smoke over a longer period of time and has a pinion smell to it, you would better buy something else.

This is exactly what I was looking for. The smell is a replica of that wonderful fall camping woodfire. The smell is a bit intense for the first minute as you are lighting the incense, but it then mellows out and is not overwhelming.It can bit a bit difficult to burn at first if you don't know how to start a real fire. I hold the brick over a candle instead of a lighter or match to make it easier. Let the end of the brick catch just a bit of fire and then blow on the lit end a few times.

Please do not purchase this product, there is absolutely no fragrance at all, I was looking for mild fragrance, however, there is zero fragrance, money wasted.

It is difficult to find a cedar incense that doesn't have a chemical smell, but these bricks are great! A nice gentle, clear fragrance distinctly cedar, without any other smells. The bricks light easily, and burn about 15 minutes. Definitely a winner!
